Easter Blessings
At Easter we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus and the transformative power of God's love. We at Resurrection College Prep High School take this opportunity to celebrate and thank the Sisters of the Resurrection for their service to the many young women whose lives they have touched with their ministry.
Thank you to the Sisters for their 90 years of education ministry and their commitment to the community for over 100 years.
At this season of the Resurrection, we would like to share with you the prayer that the students and staff pray each week.
O Risen Lord,
the way, the truth and the life,
make us faithful followers
of the spirit of your resurrection.
Grant that we may be inwardly
renewed; dying to ourselves
in order that you may live in us.
May our lives serve as signs
of the transforming power of your love.
Use us as your instruments
for the renewal of society,
bringing your life and love to all
and leading them to your Church.
This we ask of you, Lord Jesus,
living and reigning with the Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

Run for Res 5K Fun Run/Walk
Register today for the Run for Res 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 20 at 9 am. All walkers, runners and families are all welcome to participate. Alumnae Wall of Honor
On Saturday April 20 at 4 pm Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at Resurrection College Prep, immediately followed by the Alumnae Wall of Honor awards ceremony and refreshments. Notable alumnae will be honored with the Blessed Celine Award, which is awarded to alumnae who exemplify the life values of Blessed Celine, the foundress of the Sisters of the Resurrection. The recipients are accomplished in their fields of endeavor and, like Blessed Celine, work toward the advancement of women in society and act as positive Christian role models for young women. The 2013 Blessed Celine recipients are Anna Czupryna '99, Colleen Borghi Warner '83, and Jennifer Kohnke '73.
On April 20 Resurrection alumnae will also be inducted into the Resurrection Athletic Hall of Fame. The Athletic Hall of Fame Award recognizes individuals from the Resurrection athletic community who have participated in sports or contributed to the Resurrection College Prep Athletic Program. The 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees are Kerri Przybylski '89, Melissa Collins Murphey '95, Kristi Cirone '05, Maureen Lennon Zeeb '82, and Coach Susan Fosco. Youth Leadership Awards

Gabrielle Carsello '13, Melissa Anderson '14, and Haley Beierwaltes '15 were honored at the Vicariate II Youth Leadership Awards Banquet on March 3rd at the White Eagle Banquets in Niles. They were among 280 young adults recognized for their ongoing ministries at their parishes and high schools in Vicariate II. Bishop Francis J. Kane presented the girls with awards on behalf of St John Brebeuf Parish Youth Ministry.
Melissa Anderson '14 has also been named " Youth of the Year" by the Niles Chamber of Commerce. Melissa will be honored at the annual "Night of Roses" dinner on April 27th. The Niles Chamber of Commerce celebrates the achievements of 12 Niles citizens each year for their service to the community. Melissa is being recognized for her service to St John Brebeuf Parish, her leadership at Resurrection and her continued involvement in Girl Scouting.

After advancing in the regional competition on February 1, Resurrection College Prep High School's WYSE team (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) competed in the state sectionals at North Central College in Naperville on March 14. The Resurrection team competed with over other high schools and two Resurrection students were awarded medals.
Congratulations to Hailee Higgins '13 for her third place medal in English and to Gabrielle Carsello '13 for her third place medal in Biology. Congratulations and good luck to Gabrielle Carsello who also qualified to go to the state finals in April!

Arts Alive!
Congratulations to the Chamber Orchestra musicians who participated in the Illinois High School Association's (IHSA) Solo and Ensemble Music Contest on March 2 at Loyola Academy. Cecylia Rudel '15 competed as a violin soloist and Feranmi Adeyemo '15 and Emily Patzke '16 performed in the violin duet category. All received a Division II Award, Excellent rating.
Congratulations to Cecylia Rudel '15 who competed on March 23 in the Northwestern University solo violin contest. Cecylia's performance earned her a perfect score and she received a first place ranking.
The Resurrection/Notre Dame Jazz Band, along with the Notre Dame Reunion Jazz Band, will be performing on Saturday, April 13 at 5 pm at the St. John Brebeuf Parish Ministry Center for their annual Jazz Band Concert.
The Spring Dance Showcase will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 18 and 19 at 7pm and the Spring Chamber Concert will be held on Monday, April 22 at 7pm. Come out and support our talented fine arts students!

Naviance Program
The Naviance Program is up and running! All students have received a personal access password for the Naviance Program. Naviance is an online college and career assessment planning program.
Please ask your daughter to show you the features of the Naviance program.

Grandparents' Night Planning
Looking ahead to the 2013-14 school year, we are seeking parent volunteers to participate in the Grandparents' Night planning committee. The committee will be generating ideas for this popular back-to-school event. Can you participate in a planning meeting, which will be held in May? More details are available here.

Are you doing spring cleaning? We suggest that you safely dispose of recyclable electronics and help Resurrection with a challenge to raise funds by participating in the Recycling Rumble. Resurrection recycles laser and inkjet printer toner cartridges and used cell phones through the Funding Factory. We are also currently involved in the Recycling Rumble promotion where the winner between two organizations will get an extra 25% of value added to their recycle goods from now until April 15.
To participate in the Recycle Rumble, drop off your empty toner cartridges, old cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, GPS devices, laptops and digital cameras at the Resurrection Main Office. Contact Resurrection Technology Coordinator Brad Czernik at bczernik@reshs.org with any questions.
