New Arrangement of "Fireflies"

"You would not believe your eyes if ten million fireflies lit up the world as I fell asleep."  Fireflies artwork

These lyrics are the beginning of Fireflies, a happy, popular song by Adam Young of Owl City.  I've recently completed a harp arrangement of this fun song. It can be played by advanced beginners, although the rhythm is quite challenging with lots of tied notes and 16th note off-beats.  It is in the key of G, with 2 easy lever changes that may be omitted. Fingerings and lyrics included. It is available both as printed sheet music, and as a PDF download through our web site.

And, I have great news about some of my other music.  The following pieces that were previously only available as PDF downloads are now also available as printed sheet music:
6 pieces from the Disney-Pixar movie Brave (in one booklet)
Theme from the Disney-Pixar movie UP
Safe & Sound by Taylor Swift from The Hunger Games

I hope you enjoy playing this new music!

This month's Review-It winner is Faye from New Jersey for her review of Xavier de Maistre's Pieces pour Harpe CD #1.

Pieces pour Harpe CDs "I purchased the CD as a sort of "music tasting" to hear what the arrangements sitting in my music stack would sound like. It not only had many melodies I want to play and already play but it gave me the drive to pull out old pieces because they sound so lovely on the CD. Overall an excellent CD and really helpful to get the feel of the melodies and see the tempo they should be played at."

Faye Here's what Faye told us about herself.
"During a vacation, my husband, daughter and I had tea at the Williamsburg Inn. The harpist was wonderful, and we ended up chatting. She suggested I take up the harp. At first I dismissed it but then I started looking up teachers on the Internet. I always loved the harp but I didn't have much of a music background. I was lucky enough to find Odarka Stockert, a fabulous teacher who has become a great friend. I play the pedal harp in her ensemble, HarpAntics. I also do library shows, perform at local senior centers, and provide background music. I really enjoyed providing background music for a yoga class."

Faye, our Review-It winner, has inspired this month's sale. The CD she reviewed, Pieces pour Harpe by Xavier de Maistre, is one of 5 CDs that we sell that were originally intended as "companions" for beginning and intermediate lever and pedal harp players to hear the repertoire they are learning.  But we think they are wonderful CDs in their own right. Two of the CDs are by Xavier, and the three Pieces Faciles pour Harpe are by Catherine Michel.

This month's sale includes these 5 CDs, as well as selected books that are featured on the CDs.  Many of the books are by Bernard Andres, one of the most popular composers of harp music today.  If you've never tried any of his music, now's the perfect opportunity!
