UA Water Network Website Has New Resource Pages
The UA Water Network ( water.arizona.edu) introduces two new, easy-to-use resource pages:
The Academics page compiles information on, and links to water-related programs, degrees, research facilities and groups, as well as student clubs and organizations at the University of Arizona. This page helps you build a better understanding of the 48 different departments and programs working on water issues at UA. Here, students can also learn about the wide range of water-related clubs and organizations on campus, including Students for Sustainability, Global Water Brigades, SWES Club, and others.
On the Jobs & Opportunities page, you will find listings for recently posted job openings, internships, and funding opportunities both at the university and in the greater professional and academic world. The UA Water Network will now also function as a launch site for your water funding and employment searches by including links to other organization's pages that collect and disseminate job and funding opportunities.
We welcome your comments, suggestions, and content submissions! This is everyone's water information hub; please use the comment button at the bottom of each page to send in your ideas!

Schools Receive Water Wise Awards
| |
The Town of Gilbert recently honored four schools for having taken the initiative to save water using Arizona Project WET water audit programs.
On April 14, Gilbert Mayor John Lewis and members of the town council recognized four Water Wise Gilbert schools for their water conservation efforts in recent years working with APW. The Mayor awarded Finley Farms Elementary School, Settler's Point Elementary School, Greenfield Junior High School, and Campo Verde High School with a Water Wise Gilbert recognition letter and a plaque. Through the APW water audit programs, teachers and students at these schools are saving an estimated 2,144,000 gallons of water annually. In Gilbert, water conservation is a top priority because they know water saved today helps ensure a sustainable future. The students demonstrate that it is possible to maintain a high quality of life in Gilbert while using less water. The water saved through these APW projects helps Gilbert reach its conservation goals.
Representatives from APW along with Ed Martin, Director of Maricopa County Cooperative Extension, joined in this recognition, where they also took the opportunity to thank Eric Braun and Haley Paul for their support of APW's water conservation and education efforts.
