Sept. 8: National Ground Water Association's Protect Your Groundwater Day

Sept. 8 is the National Groundwater Association's Protect Your Groundwater Day. On this day, the WRRC urges you to do your part in protecting the state's groundwater by using it wisely and keeping it safe from contamination. Through programs like GCASE (Groundwater, Climate And Stakeholder Engagement) and Groundwater Governance and Management, protecting groundwater resources is part of WRRC's research focus. GCASE is a research project on groundwater management under climate uncertainty completed by the WRRC and the Hydrologic Research Center in San Diego, CA, under a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), while the Groundwater Governance and Management program is a collaboration between the WRRC and the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy at the UA to better understand the scope of groundwater governance across the United States today.
