C2E Presents Water Use Dashboard at WaterSmart Innovations Conference

Brittany Xiu, Outreach Coordinator for the Water Resources Research Center's Conserve2Enhance (C2E) Program, headed to Las Vegas last week to present the program's Conservation Dashboard at the WaterSmart Innovations 2014 Conference. The Dashboard -- C2E's new online water conservation tool -- is a free, easy-to-use tool for C2E participants to track and monitor their in-home water use and efficiency and learn about water resources. The Dashboard also makes it simple to track water use and make donations toward local environmental enhancements. It also provides water customers with a wealth of information about their water use, tips on how to conserve, information about rebate programs, and the opportunity to donate to Tucson or other regional C2E programs. Check out C2E's Conservation Dashboard Presentation here.

WRRC Student Spotlight: SNRE Graduate Student Reshet Gebremariam

Reshet Gebremariam is a first year master's degree student in the Water, Society and Policy program at the UA School of Natural Resources and the Environment. WRRC Weather Station Records 9.04 Inches of Monsoon Moisture

The WRRC weather station recorded 9.04 inches of rain this monsoon season, between June 15 and Sept. 30. Over the course of 18 rain events, the weather station picked up as little as 0.02 inches and as much as 1.73 inches. The CLIMAS Climate Outlook notes that longer-term weather forecasts point toward above-average precipitation for Arizona and New Mexico, especially if an El Nino event develops. As Arizona approaches the fall and winter months, the prospect of an El Nino event, regardless of strength, suggests an increased probability of below-average temperatures for the Southwest. Read the CLIMAS report here.
