The WRRC's Conserve to Enhance (C2E) program hosted a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony last week at Atturbury Wash, the site of the first-ever C2E-funded riparian enhancement project. Water RAPIDS' Kelly Mott Lacroix Awarded Arizona Water Assoc. Scholarship
Kelly Mott Lacroix, Ph.D. candidate and analyst for the WRRC's Water RAPIDS (Research and Planning Innovations for Dryland Systems) program, was recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Arizona Water Association. Awards were given to graduate and undergraduate students, and recipients were chosen based on their demonstrated achievement in a chosen area of study, understanding of a pertinent Arizona water issue (via essay), applicability of personal history and future plans; and creativity and writing ability. Mott Lacroix's essay addressed the challenges in balancing water for natural areas with water for human uses. She was the only University of Arizona recipient, and the only to receive the largest $2,500 award.
