Tucson Mayor to Attend May 9 C2E Atturbury Wash Dedication

Join Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Ward 4 Representative Shirley Scott at the Conserve to Enhance (C2E) program's May 9 dedication event at Lincoln Regional Park's Atturbury Wash, the site of the first-ever C2E-funded riparian enhancement project. Volunteers planted 50 native trees and shrubs throughout the one-acre site, created a raised trail system, and installed five rainwater harvesting basins and a drip irrigation system to provide water to the new plants. The completion of the project will be celebrated on May 9 at 9 a.m. (8280 E. Escalante Rd.) with a dedication ceremony, a ribbon-cutting event, site tours and more. Learn more here

The Water Report Publishes WRRC Study on Regional Water Mgt. Cooperation

WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal and Graduate Research Assistant Nate Delano co-authored a study recently published in The Water Report.

The small study, "Regional Water Management Cooperation," focused on four different models of regional water management cooperation in the West: the Southern Nevada Water Authority, the San Diego County Water Authority, the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority, and Denver Water. Each water authority's past was examined to shed light on the historical drivers that led to greater collaboration. Read the results of the study here.

EnWaP Program to Host Two Environmental Water Workshops in May

Arizona Project WET Presents at Tempe High School Earth Fair

Last week, Arizona Project WET (APW)  team member Danielle Chipman presented at the Earth Fair celebration at Tempe High School. Chipman shared information with students on the intricacies of water's movement through earth materials in the ground. She helped more than 80 Tempe High students better understand the obscure topic of groundwater.
