April 8 WRRC Conference: Closing the Gap Between Water Supply and Demand

Online registration is now closed for the WRRC's April 8 Annual Conference, "Closing the Gap Between Water Supply and Demand." Please contact Jane Cripps with any questions regarding registration.

By the year 2060, water demand in Arizona may exceed renewable supplies by a margin that could grow to 1 million acre-feet. The WRRC partnered with the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) to address the vital question of how Arizona can secure safe, sustainable water resources for its current and future needs.

The conference w
ill be held at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center in Tucson and will feature keynote speakers Michael Lacey (Director, ADWR) and Kay Brothers (Colorado River Basin Study Next Steps Working Group). Panel sessions will discuss the range of potential options for Closing the Gap.

ADWR Develops Online Portal for Sharing Third-Party Water Level Data

The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) recently released the first phase of its newly developed online data portal for the reporting and sharing of third-party water level data. The new portal provides individuals and organizations with an online interface to submit water level data that allows for sharing and eventually for various reporting requirements.

Though the portal currently only accepts water level data for wells with a GWSI Site ID, the next version will incorporate wells that have a 55-registration (well registry) number. To learn more about the portal, contact Teri Davis (602-771-8671) or click here.
