Online Registration for WRRC Annual Conference Closes April 2
Only a few seats are still available for the WRRC's April 8 Annual Conference, "Closing the Gap Between Water Supply and Demand." Register today at the regular rate of $125 to secure your spot at this important Arizona water conversation! Online registration closes Wed., April 2.
This year's conference, organized in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR),
will address a vital question: How can Arizona secure safe, sustainable water resources for its current and future needs? The conference will be held at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center in Tucson and will feature keynote speakers Michael Lacey (Director, ADWR) and Kay Brothers (Colorado River Basin Study Next Steps Working Group). Presentation: Tackling Water Quality Issues in Bolivia and Guatemala

This presentation will focus on water quality-related issues in developing countries, in particular Bolivia and Guatemala. The most alarming water quality issues in these countries are related to acute contaminants, more specifically microbial contamination of their source waters. Through various pictures and stories, Mark Taylor will present his experiences on the water quality issues in these two countries. Learn more about this presentation here.

EnWaP Program to Host April 7 Tucson Workshop for Roadmap Series (RSVP)
The WRRC's Connecting the Environment to Arizona Water Planning (EnWaP) program will host an April 7 workshop in Tucson as part of its Roadmap series to determine future recommendations for water management and planning. The workshop will be held from 12 - 4:30 p.m. at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center. Click here to RSVP for this event. April Tucson Water Series: "What You Always Wanted to Know About Water"
Tucson Water will host four free workshops in the month of April to help celebrate Arizona Water Awareness Month. The "What You Always Wanted to Know About Water" series will be held from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on April 1 (801 W. Congress), April 17 (8155 E. Poinciana Dr.), April 24 (1510 E. Grant) and April 30 (3202 E. 1st St.).

ADWR Develops Online Portal for Sharing Third-Party Water Level Data
The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) recently released the first phase of its newly developed online data portal for the reporting and sharing of third-party water level data. Though the portal currently only accepts water level data for wells with a GWSI Site ID, the next version will incorporate wells that have a 55-registration (well registry) number. Prescott's Tri-City Prep Wins 2014 Arizona Envirothon
Nine teams of high school students from around the state tested their environmental field skills March 21-22 at the University of Arizona's research farm in Maricopa.
Prescott's Tri-City College Prep developed the winning sustainable agriculture model to capture the 2014 Arizona Envirothon championship. Each student on the winning five-member team earned a $500 scholarship; their coach was also award a $500 stipend. Learn more here.

Institute of the Environment Hosts SpringFest on March 29
The UA Institute of the Environment (IE) will host its annual Spring Fest on Saturday, March 29 from 3 - 5 p.m. at Reid Park (Ramada No. 2). Get to know your environmental colleagues from all across campus, outside the office! Families, kids and pets are all welcome to join IE for an afternoon of recreation, socializing, good food and bring-your-own drinks. Bring a potluck dish to share. Learn more about Spring Fest here.
