Early Bird Registration Closed: Register Today at Regular Rate of $125
Early bird registration for the WRRC's April 8 Annual Conference, "Closing the Gap Between Water Supply and Demand," closed earlier this week. Regular registration rates of $125 are in effect through early April.
This year's conference, organized in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR),
will address a vital question: How can Arizona secure safe, sustainable water resources for its current and future needs? The conference will be held at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center in Tucson and will feature keynote speakers Michael Lacey (Director, ADWR) and Kay Brothers (Colorado River Basin Study Next Steps Working Group). Explore the agenda and learn more about the sponsors and keynote speakers.

WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal Featured on Arizona Week
Arizona Public Media's Lorraine Rivera sat down with WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal last week to discuss the future of Arizona water supplies. Beginning at the 19:03 mark in the story, Dr. Megdal's interview includes a discussion of the state's water resources, climate change, conservation efforts, sustainability and much more. Water RAPIDS' Kelly Mott Lacroix Wins IE Faculty/Staff Photo Contest
Kelly Mott Lacroix, Analyst for the WRRC's Water RAPIDS (Research and Planning Innovations for Dryland Systems) program, was recently named a winner in the UA Institute of the Environment's (IE) Eye on the Environment photo contest. Mott-Lacroix's photo, "After the Storm," was named a winner for the Best Faculty-Staff and Best Living in the Urban Environment categories.

UANews Highlights Water RAPIDS' Atlas of the Upper Gila Watershed
The WRRC's Water RAPIDS program was featured in a UA News article last week, which focused on its recently released Atlas of the Upper Gila River Watershed. The Atlas is a collaborative effort between the WRRC, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, UA Cooperative Extension, and the Gila Watershed Partnership of Arizona. It was created through the unique hands-on efforts of the local stakeholders directly affected by the health of the watershed. Read the full story here.

WRRC Assoc. Director Jean McLain Volunteers at Tucson Festival of Books
WRRC Associate Director Dr. Jean McLain will be volunteering at the Wildcat Water Lab this weekend at the Tucson Festival of Books. The Water Lab will be in the Science City section of the Festival, which will be held on the mall of the University of Arizona campus.

Town of Gilbert Recognizes Arizona Project WET The Town of Gilbert recognized Arizona Project WET (APW) following its 3rd Annual Gilbert Water Festival, which was held on March 6. The Festival drew 825 fourth graders, 30 teachers and 106 parents from the Gilbert Public School District. More than 30 volunteers from the community supported the event, which was recognized by Gilbert Counci member Jenn Daniels at a Town Council meeting last week. Read more here.
