There are countless people and organizations that helped us make the holidays a special time for the families in our shelter and housing programs.  We want to take a minute to thank each and every one of you who made sure Good Neighbor Center was able to make the holidays special for all of our families.  We could not have done it without you and we appreciate you all so much! 

On January 14th, my wife and I had the pleasure of being guests for the opening session of the Oregon Legislature and the State of the State speech by Gov. Kitzhaber.  This was pomp and ceremony Oregon style.  One thing that struck me about the speeches was that the Governor and other officials all emphasized two things; first, that we are have many difficult problems to solve and, second, that we will have to solve them together with an extraordinary level of cooperation.
