East Meets West, Marist High School Hosts Far East Counterparts
by Joseph Passantino - Hudson Reporter
|
East met West at Marist High School recently as the school hosted 38 students from China on Feb. 7 during their tour of American colleges and universities.
The 16-year-olds were visiting schools in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., and had extra time in their schedule that a Pennsylvania tour company was tasked with filling, according to Tiffany McQueary, associate director of marketing and admissions at Marist.
"They were in charge of hosting the group and were asked to find a school the students could visit for a cultural exchange: shadowing our students for the day and attending a school function in the evening," McQueary said. "It all worked for us because the date they needed was the day of our Winter Dance."

Winter Relief Campaign. Help us put this harsh winter behind us!
|
Record snowfall of over four feet has meant plenty of snow removals, as well as salt spreading throughout our parking lots, sidewalks and streets. In addition, record low temperatures caused some burst pipes with the accompanying messy clean-ups. We have been working hard to keep our facilities safe for students, faculty, and visitors. But this winter has taken a toll on us, and our pocketbook, causing us to go more than $30,000 over budget.
Please participate in our Winter Relief Campaign, to help ease the burden of this brutal winter. No donation is too small (or too large) and we are hoping that you spread the word. If you know of a neighbor, friend, or local business that would be willing to participate in our Winter Relief Campaign please share our link with them.
