A Community Message for the Next DA: We Seek Your Leadership

The most important elected official determining  the fate of people in the criminal justice system is the District Attorney. The DA, wielding enormous power, is charged with seeking justice while prosecuting the accused in our criminal courts. However, the DA is still accountable to the electorate.

As you may know, the November 6th election for the next Los Angeles County DA is hotly contested between two prosecutors, Alan Jackson and Jackie Lacey. LARRP is working with partners on a non-partisan DA voter education project, which included an October 9th DA Candidates' Forum at Bethel AME, distribution of voter education materials, and signature gathering for our community letter. It is vital that the next DA understands and acts on community concerns.

We are asking the next DA to do three things:

1.  Fair Drug Enforcement

2.  Strong Support for Rehabilitation

3.  True Justice for Juveniles

We are also asking you to do three things:

1.  Read and sign on to our community letter now: www.cafaithaction.org/nextDA

2.  Click on the support materials:

(Machinery of Justice Infographic/LA County DA Voter Guide)

3.  Forward this information to your contact lists.

This DA Voter Education Project is sponsored by:

California Faith Action, the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, the Drug Policy Alliance, the Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership, Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches, Community Coalition, the Advancement Project, the Flintridge Center, the Violence Prevention Coalition, and is funded by Californians for Safety and Justice.

LARRP Reentry Service Provider Directory

Another Survey??!!!
And, a long one at that!  We wouldn't be asking for your help in completing this survey if it wasn't important.  Unless you can tell us differently, there isn't a comprehensive list of reentry service providers in Los Angeles County. And we need one desperately!

LARRP needs it to inform the entire community about capacity development and advocacy opportunities and Los Angeles County needs it to keep all of us up-to-date as the County assumes more and more responsibility for community reintegration.

Please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LAReentryServiceDirectory
