  Training Opportunities Available   
Preparing Successful Disability Claims

We are now accepting enrollments for the next Preparing Disability Claims certification programs.

 

 Dates: 

October 12th & 19th

The program is designed for people that are currently assisting or planning to assist clients complete disability benefits applications.  This training series:

  • Teaches participants the "best practices" in disability benefits applications:
  • Helps participants replicate the strategies that have contributed to high application approval rates in Los Angeles County

After completing the three classes that make up this course, participants will receive a certification of completion and onsite technical assistance from the Social Security Administration.  Additionally, participants will be connected to a network of colleagues, trainers, and resources that will provide the ongoing support necessary to master the benefits application process.

  • Steps to Successful Disability Applications - Advanced Course
  • Mastering the Disability Application Package conducted by Social Security

NOTE:   Despite confirming plans to attend, a number of participants do not attend and do not tell us ahead of time so that people on the wait list could attend. In an effort to address this, we will be charging a $50 fee for the program. This will cover the first two courses. The Social Security Administration workshop will continue to be free. Participants wishing to pay by check should contact info@uhhpla.org.

 
  Two-Part Workshop 
 
The Project Management Lifecycle
 

The Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership invites participation in a two-part workshop titled The Project Management Lifecycle. Almost all jobs require project management skills. Ranging in scope from simple to complex and involving one to thousands of people, all successful projects need to be planned, implemented, and evaluated. Join instructor Karen Maleck-Whiteley, a professional project manager, to explore the concepts, skills, and techniques that lead to accomplishing a project's goals.

Session 1:  October 2nd from 12:30 - 4:30 pm

     Session 2:  October 23rd from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Workshops are limited to 25 participants.
