Focus on Local and Statewide Realignment Experiences

The LARRP September meeting will focus on updates on implementation of prison realignment. Participants will hear from Los Angeles County departments and from California Forward, a statewide organization with a focus on realignment through their Partnership for Community Excellence. Participants will be able to discuss progress in our local jurisdiction and hear about issues and successes in other California counties.
LARRP is delighted to welcome Sharon Aungst, CA Forward's Director for the Partnership for Community Excellence. Sharon will discuss CA Forward's focus on providing information and assistance to build the capacity, culture, infrastructure and integrated systems necessary to successfully implement realignment and improve public safety outcomes. She will share some of the successes and lessons learned from other counties as they implement their realignment plans.

LARRP Announces Two-Part Workshop
The Project Management Lifecycle
Almost all jobs require project management skills. Join instructor Karen Maleck-Whiteley, a professional project manager, to explore the concepts, skills, and techniques that lead to accomplishing a project's goals.
The two four-hour sessions will provide 1) an introductory training in the processes involved in project planning and management, and 2) an opportunity to apply the knowledge to a current or future project for each participant's organization.
Session 1: October 2nd from 12:30 - 4:30 pm
Session 2: October 23 from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
