The Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership (LARRP) urges you to call Senator Ron Calderon today and urge his AYE vote on AB2263. He received letter ( see sample attached) but voted no this week, and it failed by one vote. This bill will be heard again next week, so we need to persuade him and make sure he knows his LA area constituents are watching how he votes.

Talking Points:
- We strongly support AB 2263, which will promote public safety and help reduce recidivism by giving individuals who receive local sentences under the new Realignment laws an opportunity to petition for expungement.
- By expanding the state's expungement statute to include members of the AB 109 population, AB 2263 grants truly rehabilitated, non-violent, non-serious, and non-sexual offenders an opportunity to move forward with their life.
- With the chance for expungement offered under AB 2263, qualifying individuals working hard to reintegrate into our society will be given a fair shot at the employment, housing, and education needed to keep them from re-offending.
- By providing a fair opportunity for those who have done their time and now seek to become contributing members of our society, this bill will reduce recidivism in the long-term, keeping our communities safe.
Thank you from the LARRP Policy Committee!
