Dear Parents, Coming back from break we have retaught some of our PBIS behavior lessons to all grade levels and have had teachers review our school dress code. One area that we have specifically addressed in the dress code is the latest trend in the wearing of tights, leggings and "yoga" pants. In the past, these items were mainly worn under skirts or other garments. The wearing of leggings always required coverage of the behind. Now these types of pants are being worn as the main part of the outfit, and enforcement had slipped over the past year. Some of these types of pants are extremely form fitting and skin tight. While these items can still be worn, we will be asking students to make sure their top covers their behind when wearing those types of pants. Attached is a copy of the dress code that spells out what we have always enforced but with some more specifics for clarification. These are similar dress code requirements to those that are in place at the high school. We appreciate your help in this area as we know that clothing is a big issue for teenagers, but one that can also be very distracting for teenagers as well. Sincerely, Tim Werner Principal SCHOOL DRESS-UPDATE Appropriate clothing must be worn during school hours and school related activities.
