The IRS finalizes Affordable Care Act Healthcare Reporting Forms and Instructions

The IRS recently published the final versions of Forms 1094-C and 1095-C and instructions for 2014, which Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) will use to report on the healthcare insurance coverage offered to qualifying full-time employees.

The IRS defines an Applicable Large Employer (ALE) to be any employer with 50 or more full-time employees and equivalents. Beginning in 2015, ALEs are required to offer healthcare insurance coverage to qualifying full-time employees (known as the Employer Shared Responsibility Payment or "Play or Pay" mandate).

ALEs will then use the newly published forms to report on the coverage offered (or not offered) to those qualifying employees. Form 1095-C must be filed with the IRS for each employee who was employed full-time for at least one month during the year. The first round of statements must be supplied to affected employees by January 31, 2016 (for coverage offered in 2015), and must be filed with the IRS by February 29, 2016, or March 31, 2016, if e-filing (known as the Employer Information Reporting mandate).

Melanoma Rates Reveal Men Aren't so Great at Skin Care

Our sunscreen is getting stronger, but the skinbeach-man-sm.jpg cancer keeps coming.
