Aetna 2015 Rx Safety Edits

We have received the 2015 Safety Edits Medicine List from pills2.jpg Aetna. The drugs on this list are identified by the federal government as having a high risk of abuse. Given this reason, each prescription for these drugs must be reviewed to ensure that the member is receiving them for the right reasons and quantity. Any medication included on this list will require a precertification regardless of whether or not the precertification column is marked on the list.

The best way to search for the most up-to-date information on how a prescription medication would be covered by Aetna is to access Aetna's Medication Search site as it is updated in real time. Access the Aetna Medication Search site here
