GOLF, FOOD & CANDIDATES!
It's a bustling time in town
Jeanie Sumners

2016 Board Chair
What a fantastic February! The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am had a record-breaking attendance. I had the opportunity to see the most beautiful backdrop and oh yeah, some pretty awesome golfers. The weather couldn't have been more favorable. I don't think I remember such beautiful weather during this world-class event. I also had the pleasure of volunteering for the Chamber shuttles to the AT&T tournament with John Elford and Gretchen Siegrist-Ortega coordinating a well-orchestrated shuttle team in front of Carmel Plaza. It was exciting to see how appreciative our almost 4,000 guests were that we had service to and from Pebble Beach.

Something to put on your calendar is the 3rd annual GourmetFest, February 25 thru 28 at the La Playa Carmel. This is a four-day foodie extravaganza featuring an exclusive roster of Relais & Chateaux Chefs from around the world paired with an impressive collection of wine estates and spirits. Let's give our guests a Carmelby- the-Sea welcome. On

Wednesday, March 16 at 7th & Dolores Event Center is the Chamber Candidate Forum. The Carmel city council election is coming in April. This is an important meeting for all of us to attend.

Keep us posted on your special events. This year is Carmel-by-the-Sea's Centennial. Let's celebrate!

We appreciate your membership very much.

2066 TIME CAPSULE PROJECT
Present-Day Photos Needed to celebrate Centennial
Time Capsule

The 100 Photos Project Committee is requesting present-day photographs of Carmel-by-the-Sea for potential inclusion in the time capsule to be buried at the beginning of 2017 and opened in either 50 or 100 years (still to be determined). From a notable fence to the scenic coastline, the committee will be looking for photographs that depict Carmel's uniqueness and all that is remarkable about the town, which this year celebrates its Centennial.
