From the Board of Trustees...
The Board of Trustees of the Cornwall Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Library Director, Mary Lou Carolan. Currently the Director of the Wallkill Public Library, Ms. Carolan brings to Cornwall over eleven years of experience in library management, advocacy, administration, marketing, and program development. She has been honored and recognized for both her library and community leadership endeavors which include numerous webinar presentations, library programming initiatives, membership in the Placemaking Leadership Council and fellowship in the Hudson Valley Patterns for Progress organization. Ms. Carolan exemplifies our library's commitment to quality service, life-long learning, personal growth and community involvement. When asked about accepting this opportunity, Ms. Carolan stated, "I believe passionately that libraries are essential community leaders and critical partners in education. I will bring innovative leadership and progressive ideas to continue the great efforts of the Cornwall Public Library to foster community and remain vital and vibrant in this digital age". Please join us in welcoming her to Cornwall on January 4.

Great Decisions Discussion Group

"Middle East Alliances"
The Great Decisions Program discusses topics of concern to U.S. Foreign Policy. The group meets one Wednesday evening per month January through June, and resumes in September. The discussions are based on topics supplied by the Foreign Policy Association at fpa.org. There is a briefing book, containing articles on each topic, and a DVD, which is shown at the start of each meeting. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. The library was part of the global event in December for youth. Now we are pleased to offer it to adults.
