From the Library Director . . .
As you may already know, Cornwall Public Library is pursuing a plan to expand the library by adding 30 percent more space by renovating the existing space to better meet the needs of the community and to address needed building improvements. This project responds to the needs outlined in the library's 2011 Long Range Strategic Plan that surveyed Cornwall residents using focus groups and questionnaires to help shape the library's future direction.
On Monday, September 22, the Cornwall Central School District Board passed a resolution that allows us to move forward with scheduling a required public referendum to approve the bond financing needed to fund the expansion.
The date of the vote is Tuesday, November 18th from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm in the library's community room. All registered voters in the Cornwall Central School District are eligible to vote.
I encourage you to click here to access more information about our exciting plans for Cornwall Public Library and the costs involved. Our renovation project will allow the Cornwall Library to grow in size and sophistication to meet the changing demands of our community. Thank you for your ongoing support of our Library!
