Words of Wisdom

It is not enough to love God; we must love what God loves, which is all of His Creation.

Dr. Marcus Borg

We need your help today

Last year, Sustainable Sanctuary presented programs to over 400 congregation leaders and members AND helped over 60 congregations to deepen their efforts on behalf of the Earth.

But our work is far from done, and we couldn't do any of it without the financial support of people like you who love the planet.

Please make a donation today. It's easy--just click here:

Thank you so much!

PS: Now is the perfect time to donate because every dollar you give will be matched by the Shumaker Family Foundation.

As a minister, I also believe communities of faith have an important role to play in meeting the environmental challenges currently facing our planet. Read more...
Don't miss the special showing of Living Living Downstream Downstream at December's general meeting
Monday, Dec. 3
7:00-8:30 pm
Village Presbyterian Church

Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post has this to say about Living Downstream:

"Handsomely photographed and powerfully argued...Steingraber's scientific cool and unflagging sense of mission make for an arresting portrait of a self-styled modern-day Rachel Carson."

And from Ed Stermer, Instructor of Earth Sciences, Illinois Central College quoted by Clare Howard, Peoria Journal Star:

"You cannot watch this documentary and fail to be alarmed. . . . This documentary makes it impossible to hide behind the numbers and the verbiage and fail to see the big picture."
