Ikea Shopping & new tour dates 21 June 2015 |
Hi Friends,
The strangest thing about our last newsletter was the number of emails we received about an item that wasn't even mentioned.......the date of our next shopping trip to Ikea! So, for those who still have some essentials they would like to order, please send over your list as we are planning to shop on 30 June 2015.
The last time we had a tour with our nature guide, Joseph, one of the guests emailed me afterwards to say, " What a fascinating guide he is. I could listen to him all day long. More trips with Joseph please" and it's taken a while but we have finally fixed another date - this time taking in the South West of the island including fruit orchards, a fishing village, local cottage industries and lunch. Whether you like flora & fauna, photography, or just want to get off the beaten track and explore, this will be the trip for you! More details below!
And as we are now in the fasting month of Ramadhan, we thought it might be a good time to offer our popular Mosque Tour, including a visit to the Ramadhan Bazaar. Dates and details for that one below too.

PS. Bought this smart hand-painted ceramic mug by Marysol Doege at the opening of The Little Art House a couple of weeks ago - at such an amazing price that I won't mention it here. In fact they had a bunch of prints & original pieces in a variety of styles and all reasonably priced so if you are near to Lorong Macalister, drop into 90A to take a look.

Two Dogs need a new home - urgently
Two sweet female puppies need a new home as their owner has had to leave Penang suddenly due to ill health and they are now boarding at Dr Gill's veterinary clinic until a new home can be found.
Both about 10 months old and very attached to each other so it would be ideal if they could stay together - the bigger one is a Rottweiler but very loving & placid and the other an adorable & pretty mongrel.

You then need to call up the seller and arrange to buy the item or for bigger items, go to view. Though we check our emails & sms to forward offers on a first-come, first-served basis, it's up to you to call the seller quickly. Please use sms or email rather than Whatsapp as the Whatsapp messages take time to pop through! We normally pass on the seller's number to the first 3 or 4 callers in case the first person to call changes their mind, doesn't call up, or the item doesn't suit. Some items are always more popular than others so if you really like something, please call quickly!
