Three new schools up and running with LCMS+
We'd like to congratulate our three newest schools who
launched their instances of LCMS+ this month!
This year's class at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is the largest in recent years, coming from 23 different states and including 40 percent from outside Ohio. The class also has the highest MCAT score of recent classes and ties for the most diverse, with 13 percent of students from underrepresented minority groups. From master's and PhD degrees, to MD training, residency and continuing education, the UC College of Medicine offers a diverse and broad spectrum of educational opportunities. Central Michigan University College of Medicine The CMU College of Medicine, the nation's 137th medical school, has a unique mission to train physicians to care for the residents of Michigan's medically underserved cities and towns. Michigan is expected to have a shortage of 4,000 to 6,000 physicians by 2020. The CMU College of Medicine has affiliations with hospitals throughout the state to provide training for students and, potentially, residency opportunities after graduation. Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine ACOM is a comprehensive, four-year osteopathic medical college and the first osteopathic college in Alabama. ACOM is affiliated with Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, a 420-bed regional medical center. ACOM welcomed its first class of 150 students on August 5. ***** We are proud of our partnership with these fine schools and all the terrific people at each who have worked so hard to launch their instances of LCMS+. Here's to a wonderful year!

Latest integrations: LCMS+ plays nicely with others LCMS+ now integrates with Panopto, one of the leading lecture capture systems. Panopto brings video recording, live webcasting, video content management, inside video search, editing and more to any laptop or iOS device. The all-in-one online video platform allows you to record lectures, make course materials available on-demand to students, and broadcast campus events.
We have also developed an integration with iSEEK, a tool that lets you use natural language to enhance your curriculum searches. Instead of relying on keyword pattern matching and algorithms, iSEEK knows the meaning and concepts embedded in your questions, so it understands what you are asking and retrieves relevant information.

This and that: What's new in LCMS+ - Personal events: Now users can add their own locations when creating personal events, rather than being limited to the pre-set list of location options in the system.
- New security access controls: Now staff administrators have even greater control over access to screens, reports and menus.
- Multi-photo upload: Now administrators can upload a ZIP file of user photos containing a recognized user ID which will automatically link with the correct user.
- Discussion threads: Now you can delete an entire discussion, in addition to its individual posts.
- Course directors can now utilize the AsUser function to see a course from a given student's perspective. This is a great way to troubleshoot issues for a particular student.
- Faculty can now use the My Milestones option to get a personalized list of just their milestones in a given course.
- Linked Events: now there's a video tutorial to help you understand how the new Linked Events function works and how it can make your life a little easier.

Update: AAMC Curriculum Inventory project
You've probably heard by now that the AAMC Curriculum Inventory project has been moved back by about six weeks, in order to craft a more user-friendly upload tool.
What does this mean for you?
- Data imports to the Curriculum Inventory portal will not begin till mid-October.
- Given that delayed opening, the closing date will be moved back to December 31.
- Data uploads will still be for academic year 2012-13 (July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013).
We will also be offering a couple of 30-minute webinars to review the mapping features in LCMS+ and how you can utilize those features. Please plan to join us on one of these dates:
Thursday, September 19 at 4 pm Eastern
Friday, September 20 at 1 pm Eastern
Look for your invitation soon! Or let us know now that you'd like to attend.

When in doubt... hover!
When you're wondering what a particular function, menu item or icon does in LCMS+ .... try hovering! We have worked hard to include tool tips that explain, in clear language, what you can expect when you click on a link or icon. Almost every clickable object has one. But if you find a spot where nothing appears... let us know!
