I don't know about y'all, but I am in the swing of summer. Yet, I am looking forward to some awesome events this fall and I hope you are too.

We have expended the age for some events to include 3rd-5th grade and two of those are open for registrations now: Acolyte Festival and Bish Bash. You can also register for Fall Gathering, which kicks off the year for middle and high school students.

Fill out the registrations forms below and I will see you around the Diocese.

Happy Trails!
Elizabeth

Mission Team Home from Sewanee Pilgrimage
The Sewanee Mission Team returned to Georgia yesterday afternoon, after a fun-filled and meaningful week working in the mountains of Tennessee. The group did yard work, painted shelves, built a chicken coop, walked the labyrinth, toured the prayer garden of the Sisters of St. Mary, went rappelling off a cliff and hiked along a river to a swimming hole!
On Sunday morningThere was worship, reflection, and music each day, and our Saturday evening Eucharist took place at sunset on the edge of the bluff looking out into the valley.

the group attended worship at Otey Parish, where Deacon Betty Carpenter serves as the director of the Community Action Committee, the group which coordinated our travelers' work. The group also toured the Sewanee: University of the South, which is partly owned by the Diocese of Georgia.

The group included eight youth from seven different congregations in the Diocese, and three adults from three different congregations! The leaders thank everyone who supported the travelers on their mission and pilgrimage journey.

SCYE Meets this Sunday in Savannah
Savannah Convocation Youth Event is hosting a SCYE NITE from 5:30-7:30PM for all 6th-12th Grades (and Graduated Seniors). This will meet on July 13 at St. Francis of the Islands on Wilmington Island in Savannah.

The Rev. Sam Buice, Rector of St. Peter's Savannah, talking to the teens on that congregation's pilgrimage to Spain earlier this summer.

Photos of Youth Around the Diocese

St. Anne's Tifton has five middle school youth and three adults traveling to Atlanta July 9-13. They will work with Emmaus House, which is a ministry sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. During the summer Emmaus House offers day camps for children in the surrounding neighborhood. St. Anne's youth will help as group leaders and teachers' assistants for the day camp. The group will also enjoy a tour of the Cathedral of St. Phillip, a picnic dinner at Stone Mountain, and a visit to the new National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Teens at St. Paul's Albany help load cars with food for needy families as a part of Second Harvest.

Teens all around the Diocese are helping their church put on a Vacation Bible School. These two photos are from this week's VBS at St. Thomas Isle of Hope in Savannah.

The Rev. Matthew Lewis rocks some Crocs Roman style in a Facebook ad for Good Shepherd Augusta's summer Sunday School. Theirr youth theme for June was from Gladiator on "Strength and Honor," encouraging students to live bold lives of faith and courage!
