Versatility of EFFER Cranes...

More and more business owners are understanding the benefits of knuckle boom cranes. As an industry leading manufacturer of articulating cranes, EFFER continues to "raise the value" by uniquely designing lightweight cranes to increase payload capacity and maximize performance. When you talk to knuckle boom crane owners and operators, the most prevalent word that comes out of their mouth is "Versatility".
DEL recently visited a customer on the job site to watch their EFFER crane in action. Widely known in the arborist community, Van Dyke's tree care took on a unique task of picking and lifting machinery from out of a bike shop. For an arborist company this would be out of the norm, but for Van Dyke's tree care and their EFFER crane this was an opportunity to show versatility and new found capability.
The shop had a garage door measuring at 9ft high and a sloped entrance. Van Dyke's crane operator parked and began setup of it's crane near the garage to allow enough room to unfold the crane. The stabilizers on the passenger side were "short jacked" to allow on going traffic in and out of the area.
Going from picking trees to machinery initially seemed like a daunting task when you measure the lack of space and account for potential damage to the shop and the equipment. Reaching into the shop and picking out machinery of different sizes required creativity.
Lowering the the main boom allowed the crane to get under the entrance and extending the jib extensions allowed the crane to reach inside the shop to pick and lift each machinery out.
The cranes overall maneuverability helped mitigate the initial risks and the operators level of comfort grew with each and every pick. The task was completed and the customer was happy that the job was done safely and in a reasonable amount of time.
