DEL - At Your Service!

This year's Landscape Ontario show was a big success. Attendance was up, interest was good, and there seemed to be a good amount of interest and discussion around "Service Bodies" this year.

"Service Bodies" can mean a lot of things to different folks, but for most business', it's a truck that can bring a technician and all the tools/materials necessary for the job, straight to the job site.

DEL Equipment has several answers to this, depending on the requirements. For years, DEL has been a distributor of Reading and Stahl service bodies,  and last year became a distributor for Autocrane bodies and has always had the ability through Unicell, to design and create "Custom" service bodies using our Van bodies as a platform.

Having these choices is a great benefit to our customers! To help narrow down options, and fit the proper body solution to the customer's needs, we first start by isolating the following variables:

Finding out early, what the distinct expectations and requirements are for the client is critical to maximize the utility and the lifespan of the perspective service truck. Gross Carrying Capacity needed, (bulk weight of average load)  in most cases, will be a primary starting point, both to determine the size of truck chassis needed, as well as what type of material is best suited for the body itself. ( i.e. Different manufacturers offer bodies made of Aluminum or Galvanized Steel and Galvanneal or Fibreglass)

Application is another critical piece needed to help determine the proper product fit. Most of these Service Bodies offer a variety of compartment configurations depending on the use and size of tools required by weight and by dimension. These various compartments can be fire proof, vented, lighted, lockable, heated, and can have any number of shelving and bin arrangements specific to the application. Accessories on these bodies are another key factor when trying to fit a truck to your business. There are bodies made for the incorporation of a crane of some type and some that require the addition of a generator or compressor to be tied into the package or those that need an on board welder.  To this end, we partnered with Vanair, who supplies DEL with the products necessary to complete these trucks.

LED Lights

Concerned about safety? Ever considered your tail and clearance lights  on your truck?

There are many benefits to LED lights in lieu of incandescent lights :

  • longer life cycle means, far few maintenance interruptions  maximizing up time on vehicles
  • they are more energy efficient than incandescent and halogen
  • more shock resistant, meaning there is no filament that is more susceptible to damage from vibration and corrosion
  • they illuminate faster resulting better stop time responses (see chart}

So In summary, to be safer, be seen and  to reduce down times make LED lights your choice on your next truck body.

Note: LEDs are standard on our  DEL steel and aluminum job boss dump  bodies.
