A number of events have taken place since February's President's Message. Walter House is now ready to welcome its Fellows and several meetings of our new statutory committees have been held. Indeed, we have now struck or consolidated our statutory committees so that they are in line with best practices for good governance. Read the Message from the President.

The College of New Scholars co-hosted a very successful Frontiers in Science event with the Royal Society (United Kingdom). Four days of presentations were held in Whistler, British Columbia, on topics with wide-ranging policy implications. Watch the presentations online.



A Big Thinking Lecture on Canada's Origin Story is being delivered by Kathleen Mahoney, FRSC, in the Parliamentary Restaurant on the morning of May 10. The event is put on by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, and presented in partnership with the RSC.



An Institutional Member Reception is being organized at Walter House on May 10 at 4:30pm. This will be an occasion for IMs, Fellows, and College Members to see the recent renovations to Walter House. Please contact us if you wish to attend.

Panelists Jocelyn Downie and Daniel Weinstock will participate in a discussion at Congress 2016 moderated by RSC President Maryse Lassonde to explore what these developments mean for the future of end-of-life decision-making in Canada.

The Royal Society of Canada has endorsed the declaration issued as a result of the meeting of National Science Academies of the G Science in Tokyo, Japan.

April 18, the RSC has launched the nomination process for the next RSC President and Academy Presidents. Nominations of candidates can be submitted to the Executive Director by June 6.

Annual Dues Renewal Notice April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. Fellows will receive a mailed copy of their dues invoice in the coming weeks. Renewal information and online payment can be made by logging in to your eFellow account.
