Sincere thanks to all our Fellows, College members and supporters for your generous contributions.
With this first message as your President of the Royal Society of Canada, I wish to extend to you all my very best wishes for the New Year. I hope that this new year will mark the consolidation of the RSC through renewed governance, but most importantly through development of new initiatives that will further illustrate the contributions of the RSC to society as a whole. The new federal government has emphasized the role of science and culture in several of its ministries and as Canada's National Academy, the RSC is uniquely positioned to pursue its advisory role to the Canadian government.
