Dear Christ the King Families:
The days are becoming busier and busier as we try to fit in any last bit of wisdom before the end of the year. The building is becoming warmer and warmer as the summer draws closer. I want to send a special thank you to Kerri Townley who gave each student a popsicle on Tuesday so they could cool down. Thank you Kerri!!
I am sure the Kindergartners and middle school students could have used a popsicle this past Monday at the Mud Hens game. It was a great day and I am sure all the students had a wonderful time. I know I enjoyed being at the ballpark with all the students and parent chaperones. Thank you parents who volunteered their time to help make this event possible. A special thank you to Ms. Schoettley for organizing the day. The 6th grade students did a wonderful job watching their kindergarten buddy, and it was so cute watching them walk into the ballpark holding hands with their buddy. An overall great day!
A reminder to families when the children have a dress down day at school, please make sure they are dressed appropriately. This means that shorts need to be mid- thigh in length and students can't wear flip flops or sandals. It is stated in the handbook that toes and heels must be enclosed. Thank you for paying attention to this matter as the weather gets warmer and the dress down days are becoming more frequent.
I was amazed at how much talent we have at CK. It was another great evening last night when my family and I attended the annual art and talent show. There were many wonderful singers, dancers, artists, comedians and musicians. Thank you to all the teachers who helped judge and organize the special evening. A special recognition to Mrs. Sanders who did a wonderful job of teaching and guiding the children with all the fabulous art pieces which were on display last evening.
A reminder that we will not serve hot lunches in June. Please pack your child's lunch for the last few days of school. A second reminder that all Extended Day bills must be paid in full by this Friday.
I hope that all of you enjoy the three day weekend and the unofficial start to summer. If you are travelling this weekend, please be safe and enjoy the time away.
Enjoy your weekend!
In Christ,
Mr. Joe Carroll
