Grant Awards
The Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors recently approved a total of more than $7.3 million in grants to 27 Local Housing Trust Funds to support affordable housing initiatives, which will assist 2,336 Iowa families. Read more. 

 

HFA Preferred Risk Sharing
The Iowa Finance Authority will offer a new
conventional product called HFA Preferred Risk Sharing beginning January 2, 2015. This new product offers many benefits, including:

  • No mortgage insurance
  • Lower monthly payment
  • Up to 97% loan-to-value ratio
  • Product exclusive to the Iowa Finance Authority in Iowa

2015 9% Housing Tax Credits
The Iowa Finance Authority received 23 applications totaling $13.2 million credits requested for the 2015 Housing Tax Credit round. The IFA Board of Directors will be making the 2015 awards during their March 11, 2015 Board meeting. 

 

4% Housing Tax Credit Applications Now Accepted
The 4% Housing Tax Credit Application is now available on the IFA web site. Applications may be submitted at any time using the Online Application. Applications submitted between December and March may not be reviewed until April due to the 9% Tax Credit Application Review Process. Any questions in
relation to the Application Review Process, please contact the
IFA LIHTC Manager.   


 

Did you know that the Iowa Agricultural Development Division offers programs to assist beginning farmers purchase agricultural land, depreciable machinery, livestock or buildings? The Iowa Agricultural Development Division also offers tax credit programs that encourage owners of capital assets to lease them or custom hire an eligible beginning farmer. Learn more.

Iowa Agricultural Development Division Programs

As of January 1, 2015, the maximum net worth will increase from $678,731 to $703,844. This change is applicable for all of the Iowa Agricultural Development Division programs.

Beginning Farmer Loan Program
As of January 1, 2015, the maximum bond amount for the Beginning Farmer Loan Program will increase from $500,000 to $517,700. This change is applicable for the Beginning Farmer Loan Program.

water quality The Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources recently announced that twenty-two Iowa cities will benefit from a combined total of more than $27.2 million in low-cost water quality loans through the State Revolving Fund to improve local water quality infrastructure.
