Sarnia and BioAmber  featured on Province's website - Sarnia-Lambton and BioAmber Inc.'s  biosuccinic acid manufacturing plant currently under construction in the Bio-Industrial Park Sarnia continue to garner positive attention for this community; with their story being a feature page on the Province of Ontario's Invest in Ontario website.

From the company's initial list of 100 potential plant locations, BioAmber CEO Jean-Fracois Huc noted that Sarnia was "the clear winner".  Huc stated that Sarnia-Lambton's skilled workforce, infrastructure, proximity to markets, and this area's reliable supply chain all factored into the company's decision to locate in Sarnia-Lambton.

The facility will have initial capacity of approximately 30,000 metric tons of bio-based succinic acid and is expected to be mechanically complete in 2014. BioAmber plans to further expand production by 20,000 metric tons in 2016, bringing the total annual capacity to 50,000 metric tons.

"This is a great opportunity to promote Sarnia-Lambton as a location for companies providing services and manufacturing products for the energy sector," said Mallay. "With the massive amount of power generation, both renewable and traditional, and the industry-specific training  we have here, Sarnia-Lambton was a logical choice to put before this international audience."

There is a registration fee for the two day conference; however there is no entrance fee for those wanting to attend just the associated conference trade show. You can learn more at www.all-energy.ca/Visit.
