As I See It...

Black Friday is upon us which means the Holiday season is in full swing! Get those gift bags ready... gift baskets filled, and the wine stocked!

The holidays are a favorite time of year for many people. This cheery season is filled with parties and events that bring the spirit of the season out in everyone.

A fun twist to add to your facility's popular items or perhaps non-popular items if you are trying to move them, are Drink Recipe Cards!

Use recipes found on websites for favorites like Rum Chata, Kahlua, Bailey's and others (or create your own fun holiday recipes) to introduce fun new ideas for their up and coming gatherings.

Your customers will be back to thank you and you will have the chance to turn a one bottle sale into more!

Here are some fun recipes I found:

Angel's Delight

Creamy, pink and absolutely delightful, the Angel's Delight is a fabulous cocktail for those little indulgences we allow ourselves during the holidays. This semi-classic cocktail is ideal for dessert.

  • 1/2 oz cream
  • 3/4 oz triple sec
  • 3/4 oz Aviation American Gin
  • 2-3 dashes grenadine

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass

Holiday Hopper (Grasshopper with a twist)

Melon, mint, chocolate and cream may not be the most likely of mixes, but the Holiday Hopper is one example that shows that it is a very viable taste. This pale green cocktail is absolutely delicious and an indulgence you deserve amid all of the holiday hoopla.

  • 1 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 1/2 oz green Creme de menthe
  • 1/2 oz white Creme de cacao
  • 2 oz half and half
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • Raspberry for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a mint leaves and a raspberry.

La Vie En Rouge

La Vie En Rouge translates to "Life in Red". The drink is a refreshing and simple mix of cranberry and Grand Marnier, enhanced with the sweet aroma and flavor of rosemary. These three flavors come together for a delightful holiday cocktail that is sure to be a favorite at any Christmas gathering.

  • 1 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
  • 1 1/2 oz. cranberry juice
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • Fresh rosemary needles

Preparation:

  1. In a tall mixing glass, muddle 10-12 rosemary needles lightly with simple syrup.
  2. Add remaining ingredients then add ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass with ice.
  4. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

Mrs. Claus' Wildside Punch

Does Mrs. Claus have a wild side? Considering she's stuck in the North Pole with all those elves and a husband who works only one night a year, I'm sure she does.

It's a simple mix of tequila, X-Rated, cranberry, and pomegranate and it is quite delicious. The flavor is quite festive as well, and it makes a great addition to any holiday party.

  • 25 ounces X-Rated Fusion liqueur
  • 25 ounces Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila
  • 25 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 25 ounces cranberry juice
  • Lime twists for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Combine the ingredients in a punch bowl and stir well.
  2. Serve mixture directly into ice filled glasses and stir again to cool the mixture.
  3. Garnish with a lime twist.

A White Christmas

A White Christmas is a nice alternative to mix up for guests who are not extremely fond of Eggnog. It's a nice introduction to the distinct taste that is disguised by the flavors of chocolate liqueur and Southern Comfort. With this cocktail it's best to use well-chilled eggnog and, if you want you can also serve over ice.

  • 4 oz eggnog
  • 1/2 oz white chocolate liqueur
  • 1 oz Southern Comfort
  • Edible gold flakes or chocolate flakes for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Build the ingredients in to snifter glass and stir lightly.
  2. Sprinkle gold or chocolate flakes on top.

The Santa Shooter

Yes, there is a shooter for every occasion and Christmas is no exception. One thing you will notice with the Santa Shot is that it is pretty tame and the layered effect of red, green and white is very festive.

  • 3/4 oz grenadine
  • 3/4 oz green crème de menthe
  • 3/4 oz peppermint schnapps

Preparation:

  1. Pour the grenadine in a shot glass.
  2. Float green crème de menthe on top.
  3. Float peppermint schnapps on top.

Santa's Whiskers

In this delightful holiday cocktail, the luscious vodka is delicately mixed with the apple brandy, Calvados, along with a touch of nectar and bitters.

The drink is the result of a mixing session at The Bedford in Chicago in which 42Below's Brand Ambassador Borys Saciuk and Mixologist Pete Gugni created a couple of festive drinks with the vodka.

  • 1 part 42BELOW Honey Vodka
  • 1/2 part Calvados
  • 1/2 part Agave Nectar
  • 3 sashes of Angostura Bitters
  • Lemon twist and grated cinnamon for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Stir for thirty seconds, strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with a wide twist of lemon and grated cinnamon

Cheers! Have a very safe and happy holiday season!

Not only will customers notice the event, it will serve as a constant reminder to employees that a special promotion is in progress and of their duties in connection with the event.

Did you know that every 30 days it is necessary to clean the computer screen from the inside?

Many people ignore this fact and do not know how.
