Flower & Fragrances of Spring Prelude indoor garden - yours to enjoy to March 31
Spring Prelude - Crocus

This is the 15th year of our Spring Prelude indoor garden display. From its humble beginnings in 1999 the Spring Prelude has evolved into a world-class indoor floral display.

Opening January 15, after its very busy week of morphing from the Blue Poppy Restaurant, the indoor garden will dazzle you with its sights and scents.

The Spring Prelude display was created to provide our visitors with a colourful and intimate indoor garden experience during the shorter days of winter. This also provides you with a small taste of what you can expect to experience once the actual garden comes alive in the spring.

We beg your indulgence to view our display
Historical Display
Long before tweeting and Facebook, one wrote to another to communicate by the mails. Although a telephone could also be utilized, long distance calling was dear and the lines often poor. Early letters to and from the Butcharts are on display and quite entertaining to read.

If you are an automobile buff do check out the display on their motorcar trips, plus car club memorabilia. See the original Maclure plans for the conversion of the tennis courts to the Italian Garden with Jennie Butchart's flower list for the proposed beds.

A wide range of memorabilia and photographs covering the lives of the Butchart family are on display in several rooms of their former residence which now houses The Dining Room Restaurant.

The History Display gives you a peek into the lives of the Butchart family. Open January 15 until March 15.

We conceived the idea of a new web site some months ago and we expect to announce the web site's birth soon. This puts us between the gestation period of a lion (108 days) and a grizzly (220 days.) Stay tuned for the announcement.
