COMPTEL's Competition & Innovation Policy Summit
COMPTEL will be hosting a policy summit February 24, 2015 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
COMPTEL CEO Chip Pickering and Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet, will discuss the technology priorities for the 114th Congress. Pickering and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-CA), Ranking Democrat on the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, will have a conversation regarding the Communications Act update efforts and issues facing the Committee during the 114th Congress. FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn will deliver the keynote address. Plus there will be panels on State of Wireline, Open Internet, Competition & Innovation and Pending Mergers.
The entire event will be covered via the special COMPTEL Summit site www.comptellive.org. It will feature videos, tweets and updates on the event. On-site registration the day of the event is available.

COMPTEL PLUS Brings Business Opportunities
The COMPTEL PLUS Business Expo 2015, April 12-15 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando. This spring's show promises excitement and fun while providing outstanding deal-making opportunities. There will be two keynote speakers, each of whom is an industry leader and will be announced next week, seminars on improving sales, industry trends & news, and an improved and larger Expo floor with COMPTEL's Hub featuring interviews with exhibitors and influencers. COMPTEL Supports Vote Set for Thursday on Open Internet
This Thursday the FCC is scheduled to vote on Chairman Wheeler's proposed open Internet rules. Last week, Chip Pickering, COMPTEL CEO published an op-ed in the Hill, highlighting that both Republicans and Democrats support Open Internet principles and supporting FCC Chairman Wheeler's proposed light-touch policy approach. COMPTEL also submitted a letter to the FCC defending the Chairman's proposal to ensure that ISPs cannot use interconnection to undermine the Open Internet principles. Additionally, the FCC will consider a Memorandum Opinion and Order addressing petitions filed by two municipal broadband providers asking the FCC to preempt state laws that restrict the ability of communities to provide broadband service. On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing on "The Uncertain Future of the Internet."
