AT THE FCC
Associations Recommend Framework for Open Internet
On December 30, COMPTEL, the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), Engine and Internet Freedom Business Alliance (IFBA) submitted a letter to the FCC urging a light-touch policy framework under Title II, using only sections 201, 202 and 208, for strong open Internet rules.

The associations said that "[s}trong open Internet rules are critical for preserving the virtuous cycle of innovation and investment, and to ensure that Internet users can access the lawful online content and services of their choosing. The Commission should move quickly to adopt legally sustainable rules to ensure that the Internet remains a robust platform for consumer choice, economic growth and free speech."

Stephan Schiffman to Bring Innovative Sales Training
to the COMPTEL PLUS Business Expo 2015
Interactive April 13 Session to Provide Insights into Prospecting, Managing the Pipeline and Modern Approaches to Sales

Schiffman
In the highly competitive communications marketplace, sales teams are continually looking for ways to find and sign new customers when traditional approaches fail. At the COMPTEL PLUS Business Expo 2015, April 12-15 in Orlando, attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn about innovative sales strategies from Steve Schiffman - a leading corporate trainer who has delivered sales strategies to major corporations, such as AT&T, CIGNA, IBM, Motorola and Sprint and more than 8,000 other companies around the globe.

On April 13, Schiffman will lead an interactive, 90-minute training session entitled "Everyone Sells," where he'll share how sales teams can gain greater insights into the needs of their customers, innovative approaches that help seal the sale, and how having the right tools and experience can underscore why the customer should work with your organization. At the conclusion of the session attendees can meet Schiffman, who will be giving away a limited number of his books.

"To succeed in 2015, you can no longer rely on tired sales tactics. Innovative and bold strategies are required to ensure that prospective customers want to buy from you, not your competitor," said Schiffman. "During COMPTEL PLUS, I look forward to helping attendees discover new ways to approach the sales process, while sharing lessons learned when sales people fail, so they can avoid the pitfalls and prosper in the coming years."

Rated as the number one sales expert in prospecting by Personal Selling Power magazine, Schiffman has been a leader in motivational and sales training since 1979. He is a Certified Management Consultant, and has trained and consulted with more than 500,000 professionals. He has developed highly pragmatic sales training and management programs that adapt effectively into a broad range of sales environments and industries. All of his training is based upon actual, proven sales experiences.

A prolific author, Schiffman has produced numerous internationally best-selling books. His more than 50 titles include: "Cold Calling Techniques (That Really Work!)," "Stephan Schiffman's Telemarketing," "The 25 Sales Skills They Don't Teach at Business School," "The 25 Sales Strategies That Will Boost your Sales Today," "The 25 Most Common Sales Mistakes," "The 25 Sales Habits of Highly Effective Salespeople," "Closing Techniques (That Really Work!)," "Ask Questions, Get Sales: Close The Deal And Create Long-Term Relationships," "Sales Just Don't Happen" and "The Big Bang: 15 Strategies for Taking Control of Your Sales Cycle and Beating Quota."

Schiffman's business acumen has a solid foundation. Before founding D.E.I. Management Group, Inc., he was a broadcasting executive and an account executive for a brokerage firm. As the director of Training and Development for an international organization, he created and conducted training programs for thousands of people throughout the world. Because his programs have been integrated into the sales culture of major corporations, Schiffman is frequently asked to be a guest on national radio and television shows, including CNBC'S Smart Money, Steals and Deals, Money Talk, AP's Special Assignment, SRN's Today's Business Journal and The Jim Bohannon Show.
