Senate Subcommittee to Host Hearing on "State of Rural Communications"
On Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation's Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet will hold a hearing on the "State of Rural Communications." This hearing will examine the current state of rural communications and challenges facing companies serving rural consumers. Witnesses for the hearing include John Strode, vice president of External Affairs at Ritter Communications, Inc.; Steven Davis, executive vice president of CenturyLink, Inc.; Patricia Jo Boyers, president and CEO of BOYCOM Cablevision, Inc.; and Leroy T. Carlson, Jr., chairman of U.S. Cellular.

NIST Hosts Cybersecurity Workshop
On April 3, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) hosted the first in a series of Cybersecurity Framework Workshops, which are designed to help develop a voluntary framework for reducing the nation's vulnerability to cyber risks.
