Communication Health Interactive for Parent and Others (CHIPAO): Parent-Teen Communication Workshop
Mon, Mar 21, 7-8:30 PM, JLS Middle School Cafetorium, 480 E Meadow Dr
Please join us for an important community event supporting East Asian-American parents, although all parents are welcome. Parents are invited to attend without their children to offer more open and honest discussion about parent-teen communication challenges. The workshop will begin with scripted vignettes performed by volunteer actors addressing adolescent stressors, challenges, and difficult topics. Moderators will guide discussion throughout the workshop. The goal is to provide parents with different strategies, skills, and advice for communicating and connecting with their teen. Parents will have the opportunity to ask anonymous questions, suggest scenarios, or even participate in improvisational vignettes, if desired. Mandarin interpretation will be provided. For more information, contact harrison123@stanford.edu. Sponsored by Stanford Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in partnership with Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD).
