Teen Heart Screening Event
Sun, Jan 24, 9AM-3PM, Sacred Heart School, 150 Valparaiso Ave, Atherton
Our goal is to prevent youth deaths from sudden cardiac arrest and establish Heart Safe campuses by screening thousands of teens and identifying hundreds of heart abnormalities, which put 1-2% of teens screened at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Our team of volunteer medical doctors, cardiologists, nurses and medical technicians will be helping to screen your teen. The process takes about an hour, and you can expect to get the results of the screening that day. We strongly urge you to share the results with your own family doctor so that it becomes a part of your teen's medical chart. Your child must be registered in advance and bring their pre-screening packet and permission/release forms to the event. Please register and find forms here or at www.viaheartproject.org Registration is FREE and limited to 750 students. Screenings are free of charge, but donations are accepted to allow us to keep saving young lives. See flyer.
