Experience Gunn High School for Yourself: VOLUNTEER!

Johns Hopkins University identifies "Volunteering" as one of the essential ways a parent can contribute to a student's success at school. There are many volunteering opportunities at Gunn, some educational and some entertaining, but ALL of them benefit our students. And YOU benefit as well: being on campus allows you to experience the Gunn "ecosystem" while taking part in activities that make a difference to the Gunn community. Click here to check out all the volunteer positions available-- and see below for some immediate needs.

Fri, Aug 14, 11 AM-2 PM

The Gunn PTSA sponsors this lunch for Gunn teachers and staff, who will be working hard to get the school ready for the students. Help us show our appreciation for all they do for our students and school! Please help with set-up or clean-up by clicking here. Or contact Keri Wagner at keriwagner@gmail.com. Thank you!

Sports Boosters Meeting

Wed, Aug 19, 6 PM, Bow Gym

Parents of Athletes, especially those with Freshman/Sophomores: Please come to the first Gunn Sports Boosters meeting of the year. Many of our officers are graduating at the end of this year, and we need YOU!! We generally meet the third Wednesday of every month, and we have many jobs that can be taken care of on your own time -- including helping with the Juana Run (where you can also fundraise for your student's team), the Athletic Participation Donation, membership, sports awards, etc. Please come to the meeting or contact Lynn Johnson at lynnanjohnson@gmail.com if you can help.

Principal's Coffee: Get the Inside Scoop!

Fri, Aug 21, 8:30-9:30 AM, Staff Lounge

Dr. Denise Herrmann will host a Principal's Coffee session on Friday, August 21, in the Gunn Staff Lounge. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP here so we have enough coffee for everyone. We will gather for coffee and mingle from 8:00 AM until 8:30 AM, at which point Dr. Herrmann and some of her new staff will join us to discuss plans for the year, including staff changes, schedule changes, and other topics of interest followed by a Q&A. Please remember to check in at the office and get a parking permit.

HELP Needed for Gunn BBQ

Fri, Sep 4, 10 AM-2 PM

The PTSA is continuing the tradition of appreciating Gunn students by sponsoring a school-wide "Back To School BBQ" during the lunch hour on September 4. (New bell schedule for lunch on Fridays: 12:35 to 1:15pm). This is free for the students, and we need our parent community to help us out with set-up, light grilling, serving, and clean up. Hope you can join us, you'll get to experience a very happy and energized student body! To volunteer please click here. Questions? Please email Keri Wagner at keriwagner@gmail.com.

Gunn Sports Boosters Donor Appreciation Wall

Honor your Gunn student with a lifelong gift by purchasing a beautiful, permanent nameplate to be placed in the Gunn Titan Gym foyer. This gym is used for 90% of the Gunn events and will be seen by students, teachers, board members, administration and the community.
