We constantly look to the future to find new ways to improve our service. Our commitment is high quality and great customer service so you can hire top talent. Another important function we serve is to help keep you in compliance with new laws and regulations, below we have outlined a few to be aware of.
This is also the time to give back, we are doing a clothing drive here at the office and continually donate a portion of the proceeds from 4506-Transcripts.com to Breast Cancer Research. Let's make this season about appreciation and giving, no act of kindness is too small. From all of us on the Private Eyes, Inc. and 4506-Transcripts.com team, we want to wish you happy holidays and a great New Year! |

Are You Ready To Be A H.E.R.O.?
|
We have partnered with MYCA:Learning to announce H.E.R.O., a new online course covering various types of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and resolution. H.E.R.O. is a mystery-based harassment and retaliation prevention program that invites course participants to interact in a 3D virtual environment and determine what specific employee was suspended and why. As a course participant, the learner (recruit) witnesses inappropriate behaviors exhibited by four cast characters. Along the way, the recruit assists with research on key terminology, company policies, and engage in interactions that reinforce learning. H.E.R.O. includes over 40 video scenarios that challenge participants' understanding of their employer's anti-harassment and retaliation policies while also teaching them when and where they apply. The supervisor course meets California's AB 1825 training requirements. MYCA is a leader in designing innovative and interactive eLearning curriculums. To learn more about this course and many others please visit their website.

New Medical Certification Requirements for Commercial Driver's License Holders
|
There is a new legislative change for driver qualification requirements in 2014. This paired with other changes are setting the foundation for a more comprehensive reporting infrastructure at state and federal levels. Starting January 2014 all Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders will be required to provide information to their State Driver Licensing Agency (SDLA) regarding the type of commercial motor vehicle they drive. Drivers operating in certain types of commerce will be required to submit a current medical examiners certificate to their SDLA to obtain certified medical status as part of their driving record. Those who fail to provide and keep up-to-date certificates with the SDLA will become not-certified and lose their CDL. In conjunction, by 2017 the newly enacted Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) requires states to establish and maintain the capability to receive medical examiners certifications from certified medical examiners electronically as part of the state's driver information system.

New California Employment Laws For 2014
|
There seems to always be new laws and even more updates to existing federal and state legislature so it's part of our job here at Private Eyes, Inc to keep you in compliance. The following information highlights some of the most significant laws that will take effect next year. First up: Expanding paid family leave rights. This law will now extend coverage to workers who care for siblings, grandparents, and parents-in-law. Second up: Minimum wage to increase. The rate will go up from $8.00 per hour to $9.00 per hour on July 1st, 2014 and then increase again to $10.00 per hour on January 1st, 2016. Third up:Expanded definition of sexual harassment. This new law states that sexual harassment doesn't have to be motivated by sexual desire. For more information on these new laws click here. |
