Hello Everyone:

 

Welcome to the June newsletter.  I hope you had a really  great Memorial Day weekend.  

 

I'll be taking a look at Edward Snowden's natal chart and transits in this month's newsletter, but the main focus for the month of June, is on self healing - establishing a sense of peace within, and accepting life, just the way it is.

Focus in June 
  

 


In the month of June, there are three
pieces of information I'd like to bring to
your attention:




1) Mercury will be in retrograde
motion June 7  -  July 1.


MERCURY will retrograde firstly in the sign of Cancer  
(June 7 - 16), which kindles a desire for creating time and space to gather our thoughts. We may find ourselves taking a trip down memory lane, evaluating decisions we've made in the past.  We may feel contemplative and desirous of entering into an emotional process to gain insight about our emotional well being.

This is an excellent placement for working with affirmations.

Mercury finishes its retrograde motion in the sign of Gemini   (June 17 - July 1), which is much more
mercurial, in nature. In fact we tend to process information rapidly, communicate with the same
amount of speed, but perhaps make snap decisions.




2) Jupiter is on the cusp of two signs: in Cancer, but preparing to move into the sign of Leo for a year,
as of July 16th.



3) Saturn is retrograde in the sign of Scorpio and about to go direct on July 20th.  It is also in a trine to transiting Chiron during this same time frame.
 
  
   
The month of June is really about making peace with where we're at, within ourselves and within our lives.

We may feel that we're not where we had hoped we'd be with reference to our personal lives.  This could be about financial security, our emotional well being, our health and physical stamina, comfort in our living situation and knowing we are where we belong, resolving family matters, happiness and support from our social network, having sufficient work and income, having the certainty of knowing that we will be able to take care of ourselves and others.

Chiron (known as the wounded healer) is in the Pisces at this time and making a positive connection with Saturn in Scorpio.  This combination is well suited to the healing process.  It's ironic that, in order to stay on top of life's challenges, we may find ourselves reaching for the 'stoic' energy of Saturn in Scorpio, but, like a 'Catch 22", this placement can be hard around the edges, just when we need to be 'soft' inside, and connect with our 'heart' energy. 

That's where Chiron in Pisces comes in.  This placement  supports us in giving ourselves to the process at hand - to come into 'acceptance' and to let go.  We may find that crying is the most magical healing tool at this time.

Very deep healing can take place with this combination.  While we're aware of our own vulnerability in whatever we're facing, we can also acknowledge that we're really doing the best we can.  This in turn, creates space inside of us, to open up to receive Divine support. 
 

Saturn and Chiron are in connection through  September of 2014 - but crunch time is June - mid July.

Speaks Out

 

 

 



Last night, NBC just ran an interview with Edward Snowden, former NSA contractor,  who is responsible for leaking major United States intelligence information through a British newspaper, 'The Guardian', and the 'Washington Post', during the Spring of 2013.

In looking at Snowden's natal chart, in my opinion, there is no evidence of the kind of deceit, 'radical traitor' like tendencies or criminal intentions, you might expect, given what he has chosen to do.  So that leaves us, with:  What is he thinking?  Why did he reveal what he revealed?  What were his  intentions?  Where is he coming from?

Rather, there is evidence of a full blown, free thinking, idealist.  Firstly, with the Neptune (7th) in Sagittarius, in opposition to Gemini Sun (1st), and the Uranus-Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius (6th), in opposition to Mercury in Gemini.  Uranus-Jupiter in Sagittarius desires to align with a cause, which represents freedom/liberty for all. It is a little like a Robin Hood persona.  Mercury in this location indicates a desire and commitment to share information.

Does he take himself and his work seriously?  You bet.  His natal chart reveals a Grand Trine in the air signs, with Saturn participating in the Grand Trine.  (Mars, North Node and Sun in Gemini (1st), trine Pluto / Saturn in Libra (5th)- both in trine to an Aquarius Midheaven (career point).

This Grand Trine indicates a sharp intellect and excellent creative abilities, superior analytical and focusing skills, and the ability to express oneself in an articulate and consistent manner.  It also indicates a desire for professional respect.

This combination would also indicate that he was, and is fully aware of the consequences of what he has done, both for himself, and those whom he exposed.

Gemini Mercury/Ascendant in sextile to Venus in Leo in the 3rd house, indicates the enjoyment of teaching, and a flair for creative writing.

His Scorpio Moon (6th) which enjoys privacy, secrecy, working behind the scenes, and is well suited to covert projects, is a little at odds with his Venus in Leo (3rd)  which enjoys social interaction, the intellectual stimulation of colleagues,  and seeks outward recognition for one's skills and efforts.

 

CURRENT TRANSITS

Saturn is conjunct Snowden's Scorpio Moon 
(December 2012 - December 2013 and & Mid May - mid September, 2014. 

This creates a marked feeling of emotional  separation, personal loneliness and depression - walking the path of the Hermit.


Saturn is in square to the Midheaven (career point) 
Mid November of 2013 - November, 2014

This creates the experience of being blocked from have access to, and having creative expression through one's  work and professional activities.  It also represents having to accept harsh judgement from those in authority.


Neptune is in a T-square - Opposes Progressed Venus in Virgo (4th) and squares Uranus in Sagittarius (6th) 
March of 2013 - March 2016     

This placement leaves him in limbo with regards to where he will reside, the nature of his relationship with his home country and government, and where he goes from here, with regards to his life journey.


Jupiter conjuncts Progressed Ascendant and Progressed Sun in Cancer in 3rd house
May-June, 2014

This can indicate a breakthrough - good news of some kind about his situation.


Jupiter conjuncts Progressed Mercury and Natal Venus in Leo (3rd) and trines Natal Jupiter/Uranus (6th), sextiles Mercury (12th)
August - October 2014    and    Jan - June, 2015   
This is also related to good news.  It could indicate a teaching or consulting position becoming available and a visible path to coming back to the U.S.

Saturn in Sagittarius in Grand Cross.  Saturn conjuncts Jupiter/Uranus in Sagittarius (6th), opposes Mercury in Gemini (12th), squares Transiting Neptune in Pisces (10th)and Progressed Venus in Gemini (4th) 
Jan, 2015 - mid November, 2016

This combination indicates that Snowden will definitely have to serve time in Federal prison if he comes back into the U.S.  - and he will be made an example of. 
Should he continue to seek asylum elsewhere, it will not be an easy path for him.

June 7: 
The emotional challenge today is in determining what we want, and/ or want to focus on.  It may be late afternoon before we've figured it out, and then it will be 'all systems go'.
(Libra Moon squares Mercury (Cancer) at 1:15 am. Mercury goes retrograde at 5:00 am. Moon conjuncts Mars at 4:30 pm and squares Pluto at 7:45 pm)   
 
June 9: 
During the course of the day, a Grand Trine comes together in the water element. This is an imaginative, emotionally and psychically sensitive placement.  Not well matched with busy energy, and high energy demands, we feel best when we can flow with our own schedule.  
(Moon in Scorpio trines Mercury (Cancer) at 9:00 am and trines Neptune (Pisces) at 5:15 pm)

June 10:
We may feel like 'vegging' today.  Finding our drive is quite the challenge, and, we're not much in the mood for being around others, least - not until supper time. Energies begin to build today, leading up to the Saturn-Venus opposition on June 12. This influence can challenge our self esteem, our relationship with money, and  with romance and partnerships.
(Moon opposes Venus (Taurus) at 6:00 am and Moon conjuncts Saturn (Scorpio) at 11:30 am.  Moon Trines Jupiter (Cancer) at 7:15 pm).

June 12:
 
Full Moon in Sagittarius. See Lunar Activity (at bottom of Astro Tips) for there's a bit of a challenge around this Full Moon.

June 14:  Energies are intense today, at least until 5:00 pm. They lack  flow and precision, and do not lend themselves to tackling projects around the house or working with tools in general. Not a good connection for social activity.  In the evening, things lighten up a little.
(Mars (Libra) squares Pluto (Capricorn) at 5:30 am.  Capricorn Moon comes into a challenging T-square configuration with Mars (6:45 am) and Uranus (11:45 am).  Moon trines Venus (Taurus) at 6:15 pm.)

Energizing mental energies this morning are good for focus and decision making.  Mid afternoon can bring forth an emotional lull. 
(Aquarius Moon trines Mars (Libra) at 8 am and sextiles Uranus at 12:30 pm. Moon squares Saturn (Scorpio), exact at 3:00 pm)

June 17:
Mental energies flow with ease this morning, but keep in mind that Mercury is in retrograde, so it's still a good idea to double check information you're working with before making a final decision and/or signed on the dotted line.

June 18:
We may start the day feeling a little dreamy. Nice influences for flow in relationship activity, artistic endeavors, being creative with food, in the garden, and self nurturing activities.  We're likely to be happy with what we've accomplished today.
(Moon conjuncts Neptune in Pisces just after midnight. Venus in
Taurus sextiles Jupiter (Cancer), exact at 2:15 pm.  Moon trines Saturn at 5:00 pm.) 

June 20:
Feelings of impatience, anger and irritability are on the horizon today.  Everything flows with great speed in the early evening, but there's some unpredictability and willfulness around the evening influence, too.
(Aries Moon is in a T-square with Pluto and Mars 12:45 pm - 4:30 pm.  Moon conjuncts Uranus at 7:00 pm.)

June 23:
We may be aware of some emotional contraction upon rising today, but once we get moving, things clear up.
(Taurus Moon opposes Saturn in Scorpio, exact at 4:00 am)

June 24:
Social, chatty, artistic influences this morning.  We may have a little trouble sleeping this evening.  Late night techies (West Coast) and early morning techies (East Coast on 25th) take note:  the influences are not favorable for technology related activity.
(Gemini Moon conjuncts Venus in Gemini at 6:30 am; Mars (Libra) opposes Uranus (Aries) after midnight).

June 25:
Good communication influences this morning, offer clarity and decisiveness.

June 26:
 
Energies can lead to feeling quite 'spacy' today, challenging our focus and momentum - until mid afternoon.

This New Moon has a lot of activity around it.

June 29:
It's good this is a weekend day, for these dreamy, philosophical and artsy influences are all about exploring the bigger picture 'what if''s' of life.

Lunar Activity
   
June 8:      Full Moon     9:17 pm    22 deg of Sagittarius

A Sagittarius Moon almost always creates flow and a sense of freedom and enthusiasm, given its 'mutable' nature.  However, this time around, it is joined by an opposition between Saturn and Venus, in 'fixed' signs. 

This placement can play havoc with our self-esteem:  create fear and contraction around financial and security matters - particularly within relationships.  This makes it an
unfavorable time for signing financial and/or legal documents/agreements, engaging in communication about financial matters, professionally negotiating financial terms, attending interviews, and the like.  You get the picture!

There's a good chance that the Sagittarius Full Moon will move the energy forward, should we experience some tricky moments.


  

 
June 27:    New Moon     1:08 am      5 deg of Cancer

 

The Moon is always emotionally sensitive in this sign, but in the afternoon on the 27th, there is a T-square configuration, which creates some additional tension.
