Hello everyone:

It's been quite the winter experience for those of you living in the South, mid West, North East and North West!  Hopefully, you've hunkered down, watched some of the Winter Olympics and are starting to enjoy warmer temperatures.

We've been bundling up and venturing out into the evening, taking the cat for a walk.  Joseph carries a super bright flashlight (it's a guy thing) since there's lots of open, rural space, close by.  I looked on as he flashed morse code signals to his favorite star system, the Pleiades. He was stoked when, all of a sudden, the middle star in the cluster became noticeably much brighter than it was before.  While he's thinking contact was made, I'm thinking that it wasn't that long ago that we saw 'Gravity'.

Thanks for joining me for the March newsletter.

Mars

Retrograde in Libra

MARS is retrograde in the relationship oriented sign of Libra:  March 1 - May 18, 2014.

Mars helps us focus and express energy in a direct, individualistic manner.  It helps us be decisive and proactive - but it may need a little help and clarity from us, when it is in a retrograde motion.

technology-abstract2.jpg

With regard to mental activity, we may experience some challenges in the following manner:

1) spend too much time evaluating ideas

2) swing from one end of the spectrum to the other

3) procrastinate

4) allow ourselves to be constantly distracted

5) feel indecisive

With regard to relationships:

1) project our frustrations onto others

2) allow our anger/frustration to go unexpressed

3) forget to take time for ourselves and do what we

      want to do

4) Address issues directly, as they arise

5) Feeling obligated to hold it all together for everyone
6) BREATHE deeply and often

Keep in mind that Mars energy must be able to move!  This means, we have to get out and walk, dance, stretch, breathe - whatever you can make happen on a daily basis.  If the thought of the going to the gym is too boring, maybe you would enjoy a yoga or fitness class.  Get creative - mix it up, so you enjoy moving your body.

A program I came across that I just love, because it gives you the option of choosing a 10 minute, up to one hour workout, without leaving the house - check it out by clicking below:

Saturn does deep

work when in Scorpio

Saturn transits the sign of Scorpio:

October 2012 - December 2014  and

Mid June - mid September, 2015

When in the sign of Scorpio, Saturn joins with the forces of Pluto, which is the ruler of Scorpio.  The nature of this combination is to go in deep.

If we were to take the analogy of renovating an older home, it's about tearing down the old structures,  seeing what is behind the walls, gutting that which is old and/or toxic, replacing that which needs replacing with new, sturdier materials.  As we take on the job of transforming and rebuilding on a strong, new foundation, we can feel more secure.

When we experience these forces in a challenging and personal way, we may be set upon by health challenges, emotional challenges, financial challenges, or being caught up in power plays, in which we appear to have little leveraging ability.

The catch 22 is that Saturn (planet) and Scorpio (sign) and the influences of Pluto (planet) are all very 'fixed' in nature, so that we may not find it easy to embrace these energies with openness and flexibility.  We are more likely to feel emotional resistance, and feel put upon, should we have to mix it up with things we'd rather not face, and rather not deal with.  Sometimes, we don't have the skill set in place to know how to work with such demanding influences, so that we find ourselves going into overwhelm, and/or finding ways to make ourselves numb, through enabling destructive psychological patterns.

In 2014, we're in a '7' year numerologically, which carries such similar qualities to the seventh Major Arcana in the Tarot -  The Chariot - the Warrior, calling for mastery of self - which I wrote about in the January newsletter. The meaning of this card mimics the very qualities associated with Saturn in Scorpio.

The problem is that we can't ask Saturn to be more like Venus, a planet which carries the influences of ease, beauty, harmony and lightheartedness.  Saturn is Saturn!  It is the teacher, the Lord of Karma and Dharma.  It shows up in our life to teach us something, to reveal something important for us to be aware of.  It may bring our attention to that which has run its course and a new course needs to be set.  In order for our strategy to be effective, we may need to make some kind of adjustment, correction, or perhaps choose a complete overhaul.

The bottom line is that it is in our hands to identify, evaluate and come up with a workable plan/ solution to take charge of what needs to be addressed.  We don't need to feel alone in this.  We can solicit help along the way, so that we're not trying to take on too much, ourselves.  It goes without saying that it's also a good idea to be very gentle and patient with ourselves and our circumstances, for Saturn can be slow and trying, requiring steady commitment and persistence.

The eastern spiritual paths place a great deal of faith  in the concept of 'dharma' -  which refers to cultivating honorable virtues, embracing one's life duties to best of one's ability, and living one's life in accordance with cosmic law and order.  It is believed that when we strive toward 'right' action in all situations, dharma will protect us.  This is the way that Saturn works, too.

It's also true that under Saturn's influence, we can achieve a great deal.  If we align ourselves with the  qualities associated with Saturn, namely, discipline, patience, and perseverance, not only can we over- come obstacles, but we can reach new levels of self-confidence, self-resilience and self-mastery - and perhaps the ultimate gem offered by Saturn - is that we come to know who we are, accept who we are, and like who we are!

Mar 1-5:  We come into this month with several relationship challenging aspects, one of which is a  square between Mars and Venus, exact on March 2.  Sensitive issues can center around money and delegation of work/chores.

Mar 5-8:  Good communication influences smooth the way for the above...which are especially creative and expansive on Saturday, March 8.
(Gemini Moon creates a Grand trine, with Mercury in Aquarius and Mars in Libra)

Mar 10 - 11:  Monday morning brings some challenges, but more so, if you feel rushed/pressured to jump into your day, before you're really ready to.
(Cancer Moon creates a T-square with Uranus and Pluto - 5:00 - 9:30 am)

The late evening on the 10th brings the last of the Saturn-Mercury squares.  The influence from this aspect can be felt more strongly on Monday and Tuesday.  Not great for working on complicated
technical projects. We may find that it it necessary to exert extra effort to maintain a positive state of mind.

Mar 12:  The early evening brings a nice upbeat 'shift' in energy, which lends itself to forward momentum.
(Leo Moon trines Uranus in Aries)

Mar 14:  Great communication aspect this morning, offers clarity, creative expansion and 'can do' attitude.  This is great for meetings and such.
(Mercury in Aquarius trines Mars in Libra)

Mar 14-15-16:   Energies are now building toward the Full Moon in Virgo on 16th.  This often brings a desire to chip away at projects..we like the quiet focus, not to mention how good the energy feels when everything is ship shape.  Not a time for indulging in food which is outside of our normal cuisine.  Not a particularly socially outgoing energy.

Mar 16:  Full Moon in Virgo.  See Lunar Activity.

Mar 17:  Good relationship aspect mid afternoon, lends itself to great conversation and a meeting of the minds/hearts.  As we get into the late day/early evening, there's a tendency to pull away from others.
(Libra Moon trines Venus in Aquarius at 2:15 pm; Libra Moon creates T-square, opposing Uranus at 4:00 pm and squaring Pluto at 7:00 pm)

Mar 18:  Aligning with the great Moon/Venus aspects of yesterday, there's energy for building and expanding on ideas and sharing with others.
(Venus in Aquarius sextiles Uranus in Aries at Noon;  Libra Moon conjuncts Mars at 6:00 pm)

Mar 19:  The watery aspects of today, fair best when we have the time for inner reflection, quiet time, and can flow with the pace which suits us.
(Scorpio Moon trines Neptune/Mercury in Pisces 6:00 am to 1 pm; Moon trines Jupiter at 9:45 pm)

Mar 20:  Happy Spring Equinox !

Mar 21 -22:  From late afternoon on the 21st and through the 22nd, there's a pull toward the idealistic. We might be on the road, seeking the ideal place or event to connect with inspiration.  Got to sprinkle that  fairy dust and visit our dreams, hopes and wishes.
(21st:  Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune/Mercury in Pisces 5:00 - 7:30 pm.

(22nd:  Moon trines Uranus at 5:30 am and sextiles Venus at 12:00 pm; Mercury conjuncts Neptune in an exact degree at 1:15 pm)

Mar 26:   Pay attention to your inspired thoughts this morning.  Creative, intuitive, expansive energies abound.
(Mercury in Pisces trines Jupiter in Cancer, exact at 6:00 am)

Mar 27:  A quick 'adjustment' in moods may be required this morning, if we are to put the wind in our sails and embrace our day on a positive note.
(Aquarius Moon squares Saturn in Scorpio at 5:15 am,
followed by a trine to Mars at 6:15 am)

There's a build up of energy taking place around the upcoming Venus aspects, which can be felt a few days prior to, and a few days after the actual aspect:
Venus (Aquarius) square Saturn (Scorpio) and Venus trine Mars (Libra) - exact on March 29.

Mar 28:  Emotional sensitivity and vulnerability is in the air today. The key to embracing the day well, lies in creating extra time for ourselves in a quiet, cozy setting in which to gather our thoughts.
(Moon conjuncts Neptune in Pisces at 3:30 am; Moon trines Jupiter at 11:45 am and conjuncts Mercury at 5:15 pm)

Mar 29:  An early morning influence creates emotional stability.  We're given an opportunity today as to how we choose to 'process" and ultimately  "hold'  an experience.  This is about planets in connection to Venus, which can relate to :  our self-esteem, feeling acknowledged and appreciated, our sense of financial security, feelings about being able to fulfill our desires, our sense of stability and/or happiness in significant relationships.
(Pisces Moon trines Saturn in Scorpio at 6:45 am; Venus in Aquarius trines Mars in Libra and squares Saturn in Scorpio, exact  12:00 - 2:15 pm)

Mar 30:  New Moon in Aries.  See Lunar Activity.
forward.

Lunar Activity

Mar 16:    Full Moon     26 deg. Virgo      10:08 am

We do our best to create 'order' with this placement, as we seek clarity and peace of mind.  We are especially sensitive to energies which are too busy, for we prefer a quiet environment.  We do best to eat simple, light types of food, for our digestive system can be temperamental.

Mar 30:     New Moon     9 deg. Aries          11:45 am

We may desire to hit the ground running this Sunday morning, for we feel energized and want to accomplish much.   It's good to know when to pull back and feel satisfied with what you have achieved..especially in mid afternoon to early evening.

There can be some frustration show up when the New Moon in Aries forms a T-Square  - in square to Jupiter (Cancer) at 2:00 pm, conjuncts Uranus (Aries) at 3:45 pm and in square to Pluto (Capricorn) at 5:45 pm)
