Hi Everyone

Life moves right along, often keeping us on our toes, requiring adjustments along the way, as we do our best to go with the flow.

After 14 years in the Sedona area, we have just moved over the mountain, to the small city of Prescott. This will afford more work opportunities for my husband. We are so looking forward to this new chapter! My new contact information is on the home page of my website.

While we are in the process of getting settled, and so that I can fulfill my regular client schedule, this month's newsletter will be shorter.

I am excited that I just received my 2014 ephemeris in the mail, which outlines the planetary placements for this upcoming new year. I'll share some of this with you in the upcoming January, 2014 newsletter.

Many years ago, when I was living in Santa Barbara, a woman in her mid-60's came for a reading. She had mentioned on the phone that she was in town visiting her daughter.

As this petite lady walked into the room, I was astonished to feel the presence of what felt like an entire native American tribe walking in behind her. All of a sudden the room, which was fairly large in size, felt like it was filled with people.

As this lady got settled in the chair opposite me, I couldn't help but notice how grounded, totally present and unpretentious she was. Given the large 'entourage' accompanying her, I asked her if she was a healer or whether she did readings for others. She was surprised and told me that she lived on a ranch in Montana, which she had done all her life and hadn't pursued anything in the metaphysical arena. So, I began the reading, figuring that something would probably present itself in the course of the reading, which would explain what I was experiencing.

After some time when I asked her if she'd ever done nursing, she shook her head in the negative but mentioned in the most matter of fact way, that the entire community where she lived had always called on her when someone was very sick and wanted to die at home, and she would go and sit with them until their "time" came.

I had to smile to myself. This was a time when so many people who came for readings would ask me with whether they'd connect with their Spirit guides and when they'd find their true purpose, (important questions), and here I was sitting opposite this humble woman, who was quietly doing her 'service' and was unaware of the many 'helpers' from the spirit realm who were with her all the time.

This experience helped me understand that our destiny unfolds in its own time and in its own way, according to our soul plan. I wish I could say that the momentary 'aha' I experienced that day, resulted in my relaxing into my life, with total faith regarding my own destiny. The concept of karma and destiny has always intrigued me. I always listened with great attention whenever my spiritual teachers would speak on these subjects.

When looking at astrological influences associated with revealing aspects of one's destiny, there are many to consider. I might start with:

a) powerful planets by transit or progression to the four angles in the natal chart - the Ascendant, IC, Descendant and Midheaven.

b) Transiting or progressed planets to the natal Sun and North Node.

c) Transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to any of the personal planets.

d) Jupiter and Saturn returns, plus Saturn's seven year cycles.

e) The transits most associated with mid life crisis - the Uranus opposition and Neptune square natal Neptune.

Personally, I love to look back at the transits and progressions I was experiencing during the most pivotal points in my life, for they help me understand what to expect from upcoming transits.

When I'm moving toward the beginning of a powerful transit, whether it be considered beneficial or challenging by nature, I like to take time to explore what I can learn from the transit, what it is attempting to reveal to me, and I always look at my relationship with the planet in my natal chart which is being activated and imagine that this is an opportune time to become more intimate with the energies and qualities associated with this particular planet and how it plays out in my life.

Astrology is not like looking into a crystal ball, where outcomes are certain or set in stone, but rather like a map - a tapestry of potential opportunities to enhance and fulfill those aspects of our life journey we have decided to encounter this time around.

By utilizing the gift of our free will, cultivating a commitment to authentically follow the path of our spirit and a willingness to embrace those lessons which create advancement for our soul, we are well on our way to the adventure of LIFE!

We come into the month of November with 'firecracker' energy, which in turn, amplifies the energies of the Solar Eclipse on November 3. Mixing Saturn (slow, deliberate and resistant) and Uranus (erratic and action oriented) energies, is a little bit like mixing oil and water.

Nov 1: Before acting hastily, in keeping with the wild energies of the early morning, known to trigger anger and a sense of emotional urgency, we can also slow ourselves down, and make use of the early afternoon steadier influences, which offer support in thinking things through and communicating what is on our mind.

Nov 3: Solar Eclipse in Scorpio (see lunar activity)

Because of the deeper energies associated with this eclipse, it is advantageous to use the energies for inner reflection. It is not really designed to be a high energy, social kind of day.

Nov 5: There's a desire to be active this morning, moving our body and mind, before settling in to tackle the details.

In the evening, the energies become expansive when the Moon trines Jupiter at 8:15 pm)
