Hello Everyone:

Welcome to the June newsletter.  I hope you had a really  great Memorial Day weekend.

The skies here in the Southwest have been crystal clear, so we've been going out in the evening, as we always do, to see the skies, and what a beautiful sight - to see the Jupiter, Venus, Mercury conjunction in Gemini in the evening sky.  This combination of planets bring magical insights and generally expands our capacity for creative thinking.  On another note, I hope you see signs of summer soon in your neck of the woods.

In this month's newsletter, I'll take a look at the fabulous Grand Trine of the summer, which ushers in a soft, nurturing energy, bringing a little balance to the intensity we've been experiencing this year from the Uranus/ Pluto square/

Be sure to click on the You Tube link at the bottom of the newsletter to hear Judy Collins sing: 'Who Knows Where  The Time Go."

An Expansive Alignment
in the Heavens

Jupiter runs a classy show!  The bestower of faith, it can certainly make it easier to navigate our way through life, and believe in our own good destiny.  When windows of oppor-tunity seem to line up perfectly, unexpected surprises come out of nowhere, expansive breakthroughs take place in our thinking and understanding, giving us a feeling of confidence and support - well, that just might be Jupiter smiling upon us!

This summer there's a transformational planetary alignment (Grand Trine) involving Jupiter (Cancer), Saturn (Scorpio) and Neptune (Pisces) - this can be felt June 22  through Aug 3.

This alignment carries energies which support many aspects of our life, including:
1.    nurturing connections within our relationships and family life.
2.   setting priorities to allow for more ease, rest and play, without compromising our sense of security.
3.   feeling more connected and accepting of  ourselves, others, and the unfoldment of life.

On the spiritual level, we can experience heightened psychic attunement, soft and gentle feelings of acceptance opening and supporting us from within, loving experiences coming to us from the spirit realm and profound spiritual break-throughs.

In such tumultuous times, it feels great to find a moment of pause, when we can catch our breath and really hone in on the treasures present in our lives and touch on that which can be counted upon to bring a deeper fulfillment and happiness.

The line up of Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune in contemplative water signs is well suited to that which allows us to connect deeply with ourselves.

 Mercury

in Cancer

As noted in the January 2013 newsletter, Mercury will be in one of the three water signs for much of this year, creating the desire for time for reflection.

As noted in the January newsletter:

Water seeks quiet, reflective time for gathering one's thoughts, checking in with one's feelings, and communing with Spirit.

When Mercury transits the sign of Cancer, June 1 - August 8, we find it easy to come from a caring, nurturing manner in our communications with others, hence we are more open to embracing and respecting the ideas of others. This is a good 'counseling' aspect. We find it easy to connect intuitively with our inner needs and the needs of others, especially those we are close to.

I would add that:

We may notice a desire to give ourselves plenty of time to think things through, before we take action, especially if our decisions involve the wellbeing of others. This placement can draw us back to the past, perhaps to make peace with specific events and/or individuals connected to those events, or to re-visit and perhaps
re-evaluate decisions we made. Sometimes, it's just about taking a trip down memory lane, and touching on our childhoold or different timeframes in our life which are calling to us.

We can find ourselves missing those who have passed on. We may get the desire to create a family tree, or something of this nature, which captures and preserves family memories and activities.  We may experience the  desire to write a memoir which becomes part of our legacy, to pass on to those who are dear to us. Journaling is an excellent pratice to enter into during this Mercury in Cancer timeframe, because it can be particularly therapeutical and healing.

And sometimes, we just need to daydream, reminisce, visit old 'haunts' or people from our past, and to shoot the breeze. Even though we tend to move through life at an accelerated pace, we may still need time to 'recapture' those life experiences which had, and perhaps still have special meaning for us.

Mercury is in RETROGRADE in the sign of Cancer:
June 26 - July 20.

It's a good idea to pay attention to the type of 'dance' we are doing with others at this time, for it could reflect much about ourselves, our process and tendencies, particularly with regard to:  our needs, fears and insecurities.

There is a likelihood of things taking longer than planned, so keep this in mind, particularly with regard to purchasing a home and/or home improvements - such as:   additions and/alterations to your home, ordering furniture or fixtures, or putting in a new garden or drip system, etc.

 Alchemy and the Outer Planets

In my mid 20's I had a boyfriend who was an alchemist. He was completely consumed by and devoted to the path of alchemy, just as I was getting into astrology, discovering 'Jung' in a big way and counting my blessings at having found my spiritual teacher.

We had these electrifying and inspiring conversations over Sunday brunch in the house he was renting at Avalon Beach, on the north shore of Sydney, Australia.  We'd make toast with the millet bread purchased at the bakery the day before, and we'd heap fresh avacados, home made cream cheese, tomatoes and sprouts on our toast.

Avalon Beach, Sydney, Australia

I discovered the 'mad scientist' in me when I made my very first tincture, under his watchful eye. It was a 'fennel' tincture, for cleansing the sinuses, and I was so proud of the time I spent nurturing it until it was ready for consumption.

I was sure I was bringing a much needed cure to the world. While I dabbled in making tinctures from things which grew above the ground, namely herbs, he made powerful tinctures from things which came from under the ground, and sometimes took 6 months or longer to bring to completion.

On full moon nights, we would carry out all of the medicines, in various stages of preparation, from the laboratory (laundry room) and onto the deck, so they could absorb the rays of the moonlight all night. On cold winter nights, the electric blanket came off the bed and was laid out under the medicines, so they could be kept at a predictable temperature.  Beach houses in Australia didn't have forced air heating systems then.

It was during one of those Sunday brunches, that he explained to me that making potent medicinal compounds,   required putting two or more base metals together, each  powerful and complete in it's own right. But when entering the alchemic process, which required long periods of distillation, the 'base' or 'gross' nature of each of the components would be re-arranged, transmuted.  The components would lose their individual identity and merge,  so that the collective power of the components would be greatly enhanced, and thereby create a very pure essence.

We likened the alchemic process to the nature of the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto), when they are in challenge to one another, (we are experiencing a powerful and challenging Uranus-Pluto square May 2012 - May 2016), and in turn, how the friction, disruptive and intensified energetic experience, created by their joining forces, influences the weather systems on the planet and in space, as well as the psychology of individuals and, of the collective.

We are being pushed toward this transformation right now, in that the intense friction of the outer planets also creates opportunities for amazing breakthroughs in our consciousness. Why would we sign up for this?  Because the Universe, in it's ultimate wisdom, has decided that we're now ready to carry more light!  This is a gift!

June 2:  Edgy, emotional energy can lead to a desire for creative expression this evening, but it could be hard to stop, so if you start a project, you'll likely be burning the midnight oil!

(Aries Moon conjuncts Uranus and squares Pluto, 8:00 - 9:30 pm)

June 3:  We'll see our way clearly today, with mind and feelings in harmony.  Visionary and insightful - great for personal expression. Soft and inspiring.

(Mercury in Cancer forms a Grand Trine with Saturn and Neptune 11:30 am - 6:30 pm)

June 7-8:  The energies are building toward the New Moon in Gemini on Saturday morning, so we find ourselves involved in a balancing act between mind and emotions.  On one hand, soft  'Venus' aspects, invite us to connect with our feelings, listen to our inner guidance and rest in our heart space, and go for 'quality' over 'quantity'.  On the other hand if we place the mind energy at centre stage, we are likely going to tap into the challenging 'Mercury' aspects, make things more difficult by pushing and/or resisting.

If we can purposefully create time in the early morning to 'collect' ourselves, before rushing headlong into our day, we just might achieve the balance, this combination is pointing to.

Pluto opposes Mercury in Cancer at 3:00 pm today and Uranus squares Mercury at 11:45 am tomorrow).
(Venus in Cancer comes into a beneficial Grand Trine with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces - soft, gentle, desiring time for reflection, and coming into our day mindfully (4:30 - 8:45 am) -

June 9:  Great idea to make this a traditional Sunday, with time for rest, relaxation, hanging with the family, tending to the garden, or doing a little baking,  and perhaps choosing an inspiring movie to watch in the evening.

(Moon trines Jupiter in the wee hours, before coming into the emotionally sensitive of sign of Cancer at 9:15 am; Moon creates a Grand Trine with Neptune and Saturn 7:45 - 9:00 pm).

June 10:  Emotional sensitvity in abundance this morning, and we certainly do not  care to enter into Monday morning bus-i-ness, so it's a good idea to prepare everything you'll need  the night before, for your own sanity.  Revealing insights into our own process become available to us in the afternoon.

(Cancer Moon forms a T-square with Pluto and Uranus 6:45 - 9:45 am; Moon conjuncts Mercury in Cancer at 2:15 pm).

June 11-12  Another one of those balancing acts required, when Venus, planet of the heart, is challenged by the 'big guys'.  Watch your state of mind, for security issues can surface, good old fear based thinking and negativity, self-esteem issues which in turn, lead to not trusting yourself and can also trigger challenging relationship interaction.

Not particularly good days to sign, or enter into a legally binding financial agreement or arrangement.  If you're going to purchase a large ticket item, pay close attention to the small print, and return policy.  On a personal note, It is not a good time to discuss financial matters with those close to us, or put forth ultimatums.

(Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 3:00 pm; Leo Moon squares Saturn at 8:30 am on 12th and Venus Squares Uranus in Aries that afternoon, exact at 3:45 pm -

NOTE:  The influences from these Venus aspects can be in place June 10 - 15.

June 16:

Happy Father's Day!

The Moon is in Virgo today, so if you intend to purchase a gift for Dad or the man of the house, he'd probably most appreciate something simple, practical and functional.

June 17:  Good energy shifting planets line up well today, which supports  positive thinking, and the sharing and exchange of  stimulating creative ideas with others.
(Mars in Gemini sextiles Uranus in Aries, exact at 8:15 am and Libra Moon trines Mars at 4:45 pm)

June 18:  Don't be surprised if you feel 'out to lunch' this morning as you attempt to enter your day, and don't set yourself up with early morning meetings, where you are expected to make important decisions.  Everything comes together in the evening hours, supporting social activity and creative, entreprenurial ideas, and of course poetry readings!
(Libra Moon squares Mercury/Venus conjunction in Cancer 4:00 - 7:45 am and trines Jupiter/ Sun conjunction in Gemini 8:00 - 9:15 pm).

June 19:  We must be getting pretty adept at balancing acts this month, since we've had several, and today is no exception.  Saturn and Jupiter 'duke' it out.  Are we going to notice the expansion and hold onto a great 'state', or are we going to sink into a temporary emotional slump?

(Scorpio Moon conjuncts Saturn at 8:20 am, and trines Neptune at 8:45 am.  Jupiter and Sun conjunct in Gemini at 9:11 am, which is a great aspect for initiating new beginnings).

June 20:  Emotional and psychic vulnerability are evident today, making it a good 'call' to check in with your inner self.  Be gentle with yourself and others.  This is a good day for therapeutical energy work  and/or partaking in other types of  sessions related to healing and/or metaphysical modalities.  The evening brings forth a desire for heart to heart connection.

(Scorpio Moon trines Venus/Mercury in Cancer, exact 11:30 - 12:30 pm; Mercury/Venus conjunct in Cancer, exact at 8:00 pm, however the energies of this conjunction are with us from early afternoon through bed time).

June 21-22:  Energies begin to build, leading up to the Full Moon in Capricorn, early Sunday AM.  We may feel the restlesslessness and desire to be on the go, associated with a Sagittarius Moon, or we can turn the same energy toward philosophical pursuits, the other aspect of Sagittarius.

June 23:    Full Moon in Capricorn.  See 'Lunar Activity' at bottom on Astro Tips.

June 24: Another balancing act comes in play during the afternoon/ evening, when we may find ourselves getting caught up in bus-i-ness, when what we may need more, is to touch base with our feelings and address our emotional needs.

(Capricorn Moon opposes Mercury at 1:15 pm and opposes Venus at 7:15 pm).

June 25:  We may notice that a little emotional uncertainty lingers from the Full Moon, but we're given a better opportnity to clear this tomorrow.

(Aquarius Moon squares Saturn at 8:15 am).

June 26-27:  Emotional sensitivity is the in the air these two days, supporting us in becoming very much in touch with our deeper feelings, but making it perhaps a tad challenging to stay focused and grounded, for the more Neptunian types.  An energy booster on 26th, helps us obtain mental clarity.

26th: Cancer Sun trines Saturn in Scorpio at 2:00 am and trines Neptune in Pisces at 10:45 am; Aquarius Moon trines Mars in Gemini at 6:00 am.

27th: Pisces Moon trines Jupiter (Cancer) at 2:00 am and trines Saturn (Scorpio) at 10:00 am; Pisces Moon conjuncts Neptune at 10-:30 am);

June 30:  Tricky aspects in the wee hours make it difficult to get  restful sleep, so it's a great idea to get in some stretching and breathing to help settle into our body before leaving the house.

(Aries Moon squares Pluto at 1:15 am  and conjuncts Uranus at   5:00 am)

Lunar Activity

June 8:      New Moon     8:56 am    18 deg of Gemini

See description above

June 23:    Full Moon     4:32 am      2 deg of Capricorn

Many planets around this Full Moon are in the signs associated with personal security matters, so we may find these type of concerns coming to the forefront for us.
