MARCH, 2013

Hello everyone:

Firstly, thanks to everyone who participated in the Oscar competition.  The winners have now been contacted and will have their readings this week.  We gathered with friends over take-out Chinese food to watch the big event.

On another note, if you find yourself feeling very   vulnerable presently, you're not alone.  We've been exposed to a lot so far this year.  Just on the heels of this last Full Moon in the health related sign of Virgo (Feb 25), we've also had a particularly strong flu season, multiple winter storms, meteroids falling from the sky, heightened solar flair activity, and now Saturn going into retrograde (Feb 18, 2013 - July 6, 2013).  You may be asking yourself when it's going to lighten up!

We have to keep in the mind, that it's the year of the Snake, and snakes shed their skin in the Spring, which is not too far around the corner.

I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter.

Staying afloat

during

Saturn Transits

As noted above, Saturn by transit is in the sign of Scorpio, and just went into retrograde on February 23.  Its retrograde motion begins at 12 degrees and by the time Saturn begins to go direct, on July 7 this year, it be at 5 degrees.  Saturn in retrograde in a 'fixed' water sign can bring about a noticeable desire for quiet time, with much less focus on activities associated with the outer world.

If we know anything about Astrology, we can usually tell when we're undergoing a challenging Saturn transit.  In fact, I know of hardly any other word in astrological verbage, which conjures up  more  of a gut level reaction, than touching on the subject of Saturn!

Most of us are quite comfortable in the sphere of life experience which allows for expressing our free will and creating fun things to look forward to.  Our very 'human' self would prefer to steer clear of those passages of time which call us inward, and into the process of sorting through deeper emotions.

When Saturn is in its most challenging mode, we can feel a lot of emotional turmoil, to the extent of feeling like we're falling apart, or aspects of our life are totally out of control.  At the very least, we may feel stressed, tired, stuck and overwhelmed, serious and somber in our attitude.

How we are likely to experience challenging Saturn transits, depends on:

1) how strong a position Saturn takes is in our natal chart.

2) which planets and how many planets in our natal chart are being challenged by a transit from Saturn

3) whether we have other beneficial influences taking place at the same time as the Saturn transit.

4) Our level of experience with the inner process

Why must our life journey involve experiences which feel so challenging and tumultuous?

There's two answers to this question:

1) We're here to learn our individual soul lessons, which involves personal growth. Personal growth is connected with gaining a deeper understanding of where we fit in the bigger picture, but to obtain this priviledge, we have to sort out what is truth and what is fiction. Once we've settled on a road map to help with this process, we begin our inner journey.

2) We cannot be truly happy or free as long as we're operating from limiting ego patterns. Saturn transits serve the purpose of breaking down such ego patterns, by shaking loose our attachments and our resistance to growth, as we fight to hold onto the self-identity we've become accustomed to.

How do we take care of ourselves during Saturn Transits?

1) Become informed. Pinpoint the area of life experience which Saturn is targeting and make a plan as to how to address the specifics of this area from a holistic perspective.

2) See professionals who can help you navigate your emotions.

3) Get body work.  Saturn can be hard on the body - especially the skeleton and the teeth.

4) Keep the body moving.  Exercise!

5) Stay socially connected to the degree that is comfortable for you.  Saturn can create a feeling of being isolated and withdrawn.

6) Avoid a frantic schedule.  Aim for peace and quiet and make time for rest and relaxation. Saturn is demanding and creates a tendency toward over-work.

7) Wear rose quartz or use a good quality rose essential oil to foster a loving attitude toward yourself. Check into the Bach Flower Remedies, which can be purchased at health food stores

8) Believe in the Grace of God and ask your spirit guides for their loving support and gentle guidance ALL the time.  This is most effective when you are in a quiet place within yourself.

9) Commit to a regular spiritual practice (such as

meditation).

Hillary Rodham Clinton

It was announced in December of 2012, that Hillary Clinton had been diagnosed with a blood clot, which resulted in her stepping down as Secretary of State at the end of January, 2013.

Though Hillary's birth time is not confirmed by any official sources, it looks like the natal chart created for the time given as 8.02 am may be accurate. If we look back to the November, 2012 solar eclipse, at 22 degrees of Scorpio, it would be right on her Ascendant, an important angle in astrology, when it comes to health.  The eclipse could very well have been the trigger to her health crisis.

Transiting Saturn conjuncted Hillary's Scorpio Sun, Mid Sept '12 - December, 2012, at the same time that transiting Pluto conjuncted the Progressed Sun, at 8 degrees of Capricorn, which places a ton of pressure on her energy levels and stress levels.

Transiting Saturn conjuncts Hillary's Venus in Scorpio and squares her Mars/Pluto conjunction in Leo, January - mid April of 2013, which forces a gridlock situation of having to cease strenuous outward activity, and pull back, though this same influence indicates how very hard this is for her to do. She has always had tremendous stamina and energy resources  at her fingertips with the warrior like Mars-Pluto conjunction in Leo in her birth chart.

Saturn transits are not done with Hillary yet.  She will have these influences for some time to come.   Hopefully, the well wishes she is receiving (Trans. Jupiter trines her Prog. Venus in Aquarius in 3rd house) December, 2012 - March, 2013, will do much to remind her of how much she is appreciated, and Jupiter in Cancer creating a Grand Trine to her Moon in Pisces and Venus-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio, (Mid August, 2013 - Mid February, 2014), will  shower in ease, happiness and blessings, along with a deeper sense of wellbeing.

Note:  All times given below are PST

Mar 1:  We come into the month of March with lots of planets still in 'water' signs, Mercury retrograde in Pisces, and energetically, a tad  sensitive from yesterday's otherworldly Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, not to mention the effects of the Scorpio Moon.  What to do with all these emotions?  Setting up some relfection time this weekend is probably a good idea.

Mar 2:  Watch those 'la-de-da' dreamy tendencies today.
(Venus (Pisces) squares Jupiter(Gemini) at 6 am)

Mar 6:  Letting go of agendas and paying attention to the psychic flow and insights that come forth, is the best approach today.
(Moon conjuncts Pluto at 11:15 am; Venus sextiles Pluto and trines Saturn 6:00 - 7:00 pm and Mercury trines Saturn at 11:15 pm)

Mar 8:  Do your creative thinking, meetings and other communication in the morning, for the mid afternoon can bring a brief emotional charge.
(Moon in Aquarius sextiles Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Gemini 7:30 - 9:30 am;  Moon squares Saturn at 2:00 pm.  The second of three exact sextiles between Saturn and Pluto takes place today.  While pushing us all toward major psychological growth and trans-formation, they also have a huge undertow and 'shadow'.

Mar 9-11:  Piscean flavor permeates the weekend, leading up to the Pisces New Moon at 1:00 pm on Monday.  Great for working with imagination, reflection, intuitive guidance & spiritual practices.

Mar 12:   You just may shoot out of bed like a rocket this morning but watch for impatience when driving to work this morning. High energies abound all day, but they can also be erratic and forceful.
(Moon-Mars conjunction in Aries at 4:30 am; Moon conjuncts Uranus at 6:00 pm and Moon sextiles Jupiter at 9:00 pm)

Mar 17:     Mercury goes Direct.
Lively dinner conversations abound this evening and the day ends on an optimistic note.
(Moon conjuncts Jupiter in Gemini at 6:45 pm)

Mar 19-20:   We can experience some emotional ups and downs as the Cancer Moon challenges Uranus and Pluto.  Taking place on the Spring Equinox, these energies help us renew and move forward.

Mar 22-27:  Forceful influences over this time period does not bode well in those areas of the world which are already struggling with war and violence. Military force can take place.

Mar 22:
The energies which are exact today have been building and 'collecting' energy over the last few days.  Fiery, action oriented influences abound, which also carry erratic energies and can result in temper flare ups and displays of anger.
On a more positive note, they propel us forward to take action in our lives.
(Mars conjuncts Uranus in Aries at 11:15 am; Leo Moon trines Uranus and Mars at 3 - 4 pm).

Mar 26-27:  Lingering intense energies from the previous aspects above, and building toward the Full Moon tomorrow, the challenge is in bringing about results through force.
(Mars square Pluto at 8:45 pm on 26th, and Libra Moon squares Sun, Uranus and Mars in Aries and squares Pluto betwteen 2:00 am - 11:30 pm on 27th)

Mar 28:  A line-up of powerful, action-oriented aspects, are brought into balance with a good Saturn aspect.  With regard to our personal lives, these strongly individualistic aspects bring into focus what we want and show us how we're going to go about achieving our objectives.
(Mercury trines Saturn at 2:45 am, but can be felt all day;  Sun conjuncts Venus at 10:00 am.  The Sun and Venus conjuncts Uranus at 4:00 - 5:30 pm)

Mar 29:  Unsettling morning influences can have us feeling overwhelmed or ungrounded, but the afternoon brings influenes offer balance.
(Mercury in Pisces squares Jupiter in Gemini at 10:00 am but can be felt all day; Moon conjuncts Saturn in Scorpio at 11:15 am; Mercury sextiles Pluto and trines Moon early pm)

Mar 31:   The Sagittarius Moon does not like to be weighted down by undercurrent energies, but that's exactly what can happen today.  Be aware of the push-pull energetic dynamics today.  Not a good day for heart to heart talks, or financial discussions. It's  easy to project onto our partners and loved ones today, so make an attempt to reach for that positive Venus-Jupiter influence.
(Venus in Aries squares Pluto at 3:00 am and sextiles Jupiter at 7:45 am; Moon trines Uranus at 10:45 am and trines Venus at 4:45 pm; Sun squares Pluto at 8:00 pm)
