Hello everyone:

Welcome to the December newsletter.

In the New Age world, there are countless theories being discussed as to what will happen when the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012.  Is there an omen behind this?

Be sure to listen to the interview I have conducted with Lokpal, who was trained in the mayan tradition of shamanism and now over-sees Espiritu, a healing center in Ojai, California.

I have also outlined the astrological influences which are in place on December 21, 2012.

Be sure to check out my Holidays Special! This reading will make a great Christmas gift!

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Holiday Season!

love,

Margaret

An Interview with Lokpal

Lokpal is a conscious medium who oversees "Espiritu" a healing center in Ojai, CA.  Espiritu offers in person group healings on Friday afternoons and healing via live streams on Saturday afternoons.  More info is located at the bottom of this section.

In this insightful interview with Lokpal, he shares  about his own journey, his work and what it is like to work with the light beings who come through him.  Having been trained in the Mayan Shamanistic tradition, he also answers  questions about the Mayan prophesy, and the end of the Mayan calendar next month.

 Astrological Influences

Dec 21, 2012

A 'yod', also known as a Finger of God, is the primary influence in place at the Winter Solstice in 2012.

If you imagine the shape of a slice of pie, and add a planet at each of the three points, then you would have a 'Finger of God'.

Definition:  The yod consists of two planets in a positive sextile (Saturn & Pluto), to each other, which are in turn inconjunct a third planet (Jupiter).  The planet at the single point (Jupiter), is the focal or action planet.  All planets are at 9 degrees.

Interpretation:  There is tension in this configuration, simply because the focal planet (Jupiter in Gemini) carries a totally different vibration, and seeks to express it's energies in such a different manner than the two planets which are in sextile to each other, or at the thicker part of the pie, (Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn).  Hence, friction is evident.

The psychological energies of Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn point toward great emotional depth, one pointed focus, seriousness of nature, economy in all things, deliberation in one's intention and action.  They might be considered heavy and dense.  Generally speaking, these energies move in a manner that is slow, cautious, deliberate, and with a somewhat pragmatic point of view.  They can be 'hard' around the edges, hence making it more of a challenge to access the  heart energy and be loving and feel loved.

These placements are connected to power and self-empowerment.  Perfect for delving into the inner process, connecting with one's core, or essence, and taking time to strengthen one's connectedness to the physical and spiritual planes in a grounded and aligned manner.  There placements do not cater to the ego.  When using personal will to fulfill desires, and pushing personal agendas, without checking in with the bigger picture, there can be setbacks and disappointments.

This part of the Yod pattern allows us to identify where we, as individuals, are holding onto mental and/or emotional heaviness. If we can identify the nature of our thoughts, we have a better chance of shifting them. As an example, if we are experiencing hardship, if we feel 'locked in' by our circumstances, or are feeling dissatisfied or depressed, we can choose to move toward the 'Jupiter' end of the pattern - which helps us believe and truly embody thoughts which allow us to see other possibilities. We may not have immediate evidence of this, but our faith and certainty, and strength of mind can make it so.

The mentally oriented, Jupiter in Gemini energies are changeable, light natured, playful, quick, and restless.  Like the FOOL in the Tarot, the Jupiter in Gemini persona is optimistic, inquisitive, innocent and has no doubt that everything will work out just fine. But these energies don't always care to dig down deep and resolve ongoing issues.  When operating from a more mature level, Jupiter in Gemini can support us in thinking in a positive and optimistic manner, choosing to be in the flow of life, trusting our intuition and following our inner guidance.

So, how do the energies of the planets in the Yod, influence us personally or pertain to us at all?  Do we need to pay attention to this?

When we strive to understand the energetic nature of current planetary activity, it's common that we find ourselves facing these very same challenges - as they say - As Above, So Below!  As we observe our tendencies, behaviors, and challenges, we find ourselves contemplating how to bring about balance through be willing to look at what we are 'holding' in a conscious manner.

Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn support our need for strong, stable anchors. We lean toward that which we know well and has proven its value and  reliability. Our thought patterns run parallel with common sense, and we lean toward the pragmatic,  placing much emphasis on outer observations, such as what it taking place in the world, in politics, in the economy.

Jupiter in Gemini does not care so much for the patient, plodding, method of reaching a goal.  It thrives on change, unpredictability, the what-if's of life.  Rather than pursuing a parallel path, it may feel more creative to embrace life more like a treasure hunt.  Let's see what we find along the way and endeavor to enjoy it to the best of our ability.

The philosophical nature of Jupiter in Gemini will always attempt to remind us when we're being too serious, entertaining fear based thinking, lacking in  imagination, and doubting that we are loved, and watched over by spiritual forces, who always have our best interests at heart.  This placement also carries the message that we do not need to be so serious and we do not need to feel burdened. We ourselves are responsible for lightening our load, through soft and loving thoughts.

When Jupiter is overdone, we may come across as being overly confident, or somehow detached from the challenges evident in the physical world, or we may believe that the good fairy will set things right for us, thereby missing opportunities to take action on that which is getting out of balance in our lives.

The Saturn-Pluto combination stands by the old adage, you need to have your feet on the ground, put the work in, do your time, apply steady effort, and purposefulness, in order to arrive at the desired results.

Jupiter in Gemini will look for shortcuts, be creative with the task at hand, have fun and really question whether the end result is going to be as valuable or enjoyable as the journey.  There's also the pressing question about what happens when what we're doing is not fun anymore. How do we stay in authenticity with ourselves and be willing to embrace change, and have faith that we can reinvent ourselves and our lives.

In traversing the energies of the Finger of God, we're asked how we might strike a balance, honoring both realities and recognizing when we're a little lopsided in our vision, so that we can take time to 'correct' our course.

It's important to note also, that these energies carry a tremendous capacity for transformational change. They have the capacity to propel us forward on our journey.

Empowerment by Rita Loyd

Note:  All times given below are PST

Dec 1:  It may take us a little time to figure out what we want to do today, so it's best to embrace the day at our own pace.

(Cancer Moon opposes Capricorn Mars and trines Venus in Scorpio, 4:00 - 5:45 am).

Dec 2:  As long as you're okay with 'hanging' with your dreams today, you'll enjoy this Sunday.

(Sun opposes Jupiter, exact at 5:45 pm).

Dec 3:  We want to be on the move with this Leo Moon.  Following a schedule, may not be inviting for us today, so we can slip into Monday morning blues. However, that creative spark makes itself known to us mid afternoon and early evening.

(Moon trines Uranus at 3:00 am, but goes on to square Saturn (Scorpio) at 7:30 am; Moon sextiles Jupiter at

3:45 pm and trines the Sun at 6:00 pm).

Dec 4:  You may need a little 'pick me up' early afternoon to help with your focus and kindle your enthusiasm for the task at hand.

(Moon squares Mercury in Scorpio at 2:00 pm).

Dec 5-6:  Virgo Moon comes up against the big guys, which can indicate fluctuations in focus, energy levels, and our level of interest.

(On Dec 5, Moon opposes Neptune at 5:00 am, so we may need extra time to putter, before going into the day. When the Moon trines Pluto and 7:30 pm, we're in the mood for organizing and getting things out of the way.

On Dec 6, the day begins with a productive influence, a call for action oriented activities. At 2:00 pm, Virgo Moon sextiles Venus in Scorpio, lending itself to quiet, inner focus).

Dec 7:  Restlessness toward the end of the day may result in a change of plans, opting for being out and about, instead of settling in to an evening at home.

(Moon-Uranus opposition at 6:45 pm)

Dec 8:  Easy going, creative, social influences come together in the morning but mid-afternoon aspects  have us checking in, to see if we're doing what we set out to do today.

(Libra Moon trines Jupiter in Gemini at 5:00 am; Moon squares Mars in Capricorn at 3:30 pm).

Dec 10:  You may need to allow for a little extra time in your schedule this morning, so that you feel emotionally ready to meet this Monday morning.

(Moon conjuncts Saturn in Scorpio at 2:30 am)

Dec 11- 12:  With influences leading up to the Sagittarius New Moon on Dec 13th, we're not likely to be thinking much about domesticity  and routine -rather about fulfilling our dreams and purpose,  contemplating travel, and the bigger picture.

Dec 11:  Emotional sensitivity, and daydreaming are our ticket to 'la la' land this morning.  If you enjoy the process of connecting with your imagination and exploring the subtle realms, this can be a delightful experience.  Not the optimum day for lots of detailed mental work.  By late evening, we've likely received insights are are ready to put them into action.

(Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune and the Moon conjuncts Venus in Scorpio at 5:00 am;  Moon moves into Sagittarius and squares Neptune at 3:30 pm, and conjuncting Mercury at 4:15 pm.  Moon trines Uranus at 9:45 pm)

Dec 12:  We may feel a little distracted this morning, with our attention on larger than life ideas.

(Sag. Moon opposes Jupiter in Gemini at 6:15 am).

Dec 13:  New Moon in Sagittarius. See lunar activity.

Uranus goes Direct today...things to do and places to go.

Dec 14:  We want to put our ideas to the test.  A productive day in the making.

(Uranus trine Mercury and Moon-Pluto conjunction 3:30 am)

Dec 16-18:  The backdrop of influences, Sun thru Tues are philosophically and spiritually oriented, bringing our attention to the bigger picture.  It's easy to slip into 'dreamtime' and have little interest in pursuing outer activities, so don't be concerned about  mis-placing your mojo.

(Sag. Venus squares Neptune in Pisces on Monday at 10:30 am; Mercury opposes Jupiter on Tues at 11:15 am and the Moon conjuncts Neptune and squares Venus in the evening. On Tuesday morning, we do begin the day with a stable, focused influence (Moon trine Saturn) at 7:45 am, however the mutable Pisces Moon goes onto to create a T-square with Jupiter (Gemini) and Mercury (Sagittarius 9:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Dec 19:  Fabulous, creative and enthusiastic ideas today, keep the spirit vibrant and happy.

(Uranus trines Sag. Venus)

Dec 20:  We're off and running today.  These action oriented influences capture our sense of freedom and release the free spirit within us.

(Aries Moon conjuncts Uranus at 8:30 am and trines Venus in Sagittarius at 10:45 am.)

Dec 21:  Happy Winter Solstice!

Dec 22:   The energy is a little antse, so don't be surprised if you feel the desire to get out of dodge today.  If you decide to do some last  minute  Christmas shopping this evening, know that you can easily go over your budget, and then some!

(Capricorn Moon squares Mars at 5:00 am; Venus in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter in Gemini, exact at 7:45 pm).

Dec 23:  A ruffle of unhappy feelings can cross your radar upon waking, but these move right on, like the clouds.

(Taurus Moon opposes Saturn in Scorpio and trine Pluto at 4:00 - 4:30 am).

The Moon is in the mellow sign of Taurus Sat and Sun (Dec 23 & 24), which contributes to relaxation and choosing simplicity and elegance for the festivities.

Dec 25:  Merry Christmas!  Lots of time to chat and hang out, with this communicative Gemini Moon.  Focus is on being open to the views of others and being gracious and in the flow.  It's best to have your celebration in the early afternoon, for the energies change in the late afternoon/early evening, creating a need for movement and individual emotional space.

(Gemini Moon sextiles Uranus at 8:45 am and conjuncts Jupiter at 4:15 pm.  Sun squares Uranus at 5:30 pm)

Dec 26:  Penetrating late afternoon influence can have us thinking about changes we'd like to embark on, as the New Year comes toward us.  This combo carries the energies associated with focus and determination, and is felt 3 days either side of when it is exact.

(Saturn in Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn).

Dec 27:  With the energies beginning to build toward the Full Moon in Cancer on 28th, we may feel subtle  emotional ups and downs.

(Moon trines Neptune at 2:00 pm and squares Uranus at 9:30 pm).

Dec 28:  Full Moon in Cancer.  See Lunar Activity.

Do yourself a favor, and allow yourself ample time for puttering (and processing) this morning, before heading out the door.  There's a good 'send off' influence comes into place just at the right time.

(Moon opposes Pluto at 6:30 am, and goes on to trine Saturn at 6:45 am).

Dec 30:  The idea today is to find balance.  Early morning influences are intense, so we're more likely to use our will to push and force an agenda.  How-ever, a breakthrough moment, can clear the air, bringing a more opportune outcome.  A stabilizing influence takes hold before mid morning.  Keep your eye on an early evening influence, which can bring trigger passive-aggressive behaviors.

(Sun conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn at 5:30 am and Leo Moon opposes Mars in Aquarius at 6:45 am; Moon trines Uranus at 9:00 am, followed by Capricorn Sun sextile Saturn in Scorpio at 9:45 am.  Moon squares Saturn at 6:15 pm.)

Dec 31:  Great influences on New Year's Eve, usher in a wave of hope and excitement for the New Year.

(Leo Moon trines Venus in Sagittarius at 1:45 pm.  Mars (Aquarius) sextiles Uranus (Aries) at 6:30 pm and Mercury (Capricorn sextiles Neptune (Pisces) at 10:45 pm).

Lunar Activity

Dec 13:    New Moon   21 deg Sagittarius  12:42 am

This New Moon carries the Sagittarius idealistic outlook, in being ready to embrace the hero's journey, inviting  change with courage and conviction and in wonder about the 'magic' being revealed along the way.

Dec 28:     Full Moon   7 deg.    Cancer      2:21 am

This Full Moon dances to a very different tune than the Sagittarius New Moon, described above.  Now, the New Year is right around the corner and some of us may be entertaining doubts, uncertainities, insecurities triggered by this security-oriented Full Moon in Cancer.

By the time the year ends, we will likely swing back, finding ourselves planted somewhere in the middle between the energies of the New Moon in easy going, philosophical Sagittarius, and the energies of the security oriented Full Moon in Cancer.
