Capitol Hill Times celebrates a year in review

Dear friends,

2016 marks the start of our fifth decade of serving communities. We've been on Capitol Hill since 1976, and today we manage properties throughout central Seattle. In the Central District, for example, we own 281 apartments and have another 115 planned with the future Liberty Bank Building. We are committed to thoughtful development in all the neighborhoods where we work. Our mission isn't only to build affordable housing - it's to build vibrant and engaged communities. Our dedication to that purpose is underscored in our new strategic plan:

We will develop and build communities that are environmentally responsible, culturally rich and socially just. We will be recognized as a role model for other Community Development Corporations as we expand our community development and affordable housing work regionally through partnerships with neighborhood organizations.

Community priorities are our priorities. Our Board recently adopted a resolution recognizing the depth of history that the Central District holds for the African-American community and authorized CHH to partner with other organizations in the neighborhood and dedicate resources to create affordable housing and small business opportunities. In 2016, our 40th anniversary, our commitment to community priorities will continue to grow stronger.
