Capitol Hill Art Walk gets boost

Capitol Hill Community Council Winter Celebration

Dear friends,

Capitol Hill Housing builds affordable apartments. We develop and preserve buildings that sometimes win awards for their quality, sustainability and design. But the bottom line - the most important bottom line - is the people that call these apartments home. Building award winning apartments isn't our purpose - building homes for people and communities is.

A few years ago, we started a resident services program to connect residents to supportive services and other resources to assist them in achieving long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency. Today that program has grown to four full-time staff members and has held hundreds of meetings and events for CHH tenants just this year. Programs like job coaching, rental assistance, movie nights and back-to-school events build community and opportunity.

We will continue to expand these programs next year, always focusing on the people and communities we are serving. Thank you for your support of this important work.

Help Provide Homes

"On behalf of my family, I would like to say thank you to Capitol Hill Housing for all you have done for us." -Melanie Cole
The people living in CHH homes are full-time workers, students and retirees. They are baristas, school teachers and artists. They are moms, dads and children.

Melanie Cole and her family were introduced to Capitol Hill Housing in Fall 2013 and moved into an apartment for families transitioning from homelessness. Their kids started school and they began rebuilding their lives. And they found a permanent home with CHH this January.

We ask you to consider making a tax-deductible gift today to keep rents affordable and provide support for people like Melanie Cole and her family.
